hi

I know this forum is in use by professional from all walks of life

I need advise on the below

My son in O level in saudiarabia now has to choose either to take business/accounts subjects or take scince subjects

Please basing on your professional experiance kindly suggest me which line is best

in my view if he wants to study business and finance in higher classes/university he must start the foundation in O level with same subjects
normally the trend in our generation was to study science till FSC and later change to business if you do not get admission in engineering university

the new generation should not follow the same steps which our generation followed as now lot of options are available

kindly comment as it may help many like me on forum

regards

Dear Adnan

I'd say he should make a firm decision what he want to do - either commerce or engineering both are different fields. Put in him 'Single minded passion' and he will achieve with hardwork and dedication.

If he qualifies for CA or CMA than these are high paying fields but he should have an aptitude for numbers or mathematics otherwise he will get bored

Dear Adnan Sahib

I do agree with you. If he is interested to become a finance professional, let him select the same subjects in O level. Later he can do CA or CFA (USA). I am also from the same field.

The cruxs is

if my son wants make up his mind to be a finance person in future he must start studing these foundation courses right from O levels no need to study science and later change the tarck

in O levels
He is taking, business, accounting and IT
Plus english and match

Dear Mr. Adnan

Your last msg conveys that you have decided to take Financial subjects for your son. Well my suggestion is to pick the progress reports of your son and find out what he had performed in past years in math kind of subjects, secondly discuss the matter with son and ask his opinion. If his opinion and progress report matches then the decision is very easy to take. if there is contradiction then go for Son's prefrence of studies.

To become a successful professional, one has to be Passionate towards it, i wish if you he himself could decide for himself.

@KSA

SAP is applicable in few indutries as it's a billion of dollar program for implementation. One of my friend is SAP admn in Saudi Aramco and his mangement has laid off many SAP admns. He is also worried about his position, though safe uptill now.

I think this decision should be delayed till entering university.
For the o level, science subjects is a good choice.
