Please Mod: My question is not related to Property, but allow this for a good cause of Education and Future of all our Childs:
My two nephews just passed Metric Science (SSC) Exams, got marks 587 & 705:
1st Option:
I am willing for them ( as their also wish) FSc Pre Engineering and later BE Mechanical or Civil :
Is this wise decision can they get enough marks in FSc to get admission in any Engineering University?
2nd Option:
Take direct admission in Technology College for Civil or Mechanical Diploma. I think there will be no problem getting admission because in these days there is also admission on Self Finance Basis in evening time in all Govt. Colleges)
(Both are very optimistic to go for FSc Pre Engineering and they very hopefully will get best marks in Future)
Need feed back from all knowledgeable/ experienced peoples

It all depends on their priority. If their priority is job (sooner to have it), then diploma is the best. Otherwise, there is no substitute for F.Sc. which is in fact a long-term career development and off-course more rewarding. Also, One can also go for bachelor of engineering after diploma course.. |

Dear visitor ( if u had given ur real name, advising would have been much easier. Anyhow, please find out their best interests and let them go into the relevant field from now. There is very less chance that they will easily secure good marks for Engineering University. Adopt a realistic approach and guide them to choose according to their capabilities & calibre. |

Though these marks are less but You have to give one more chance to these Kids, or get then assessed by some Educationist, Still it is worthwhile to persue FSC and decide later what options they can avail.
One of my relative's son did not get good marks in First year FSC but improved in 2nd year, After result he repeated all papers and got sufficient marks to get a seat in Punjab University Dotorate of Pharmacy.
In short we should take into account overall performance of Kids and other factors before deciding about their future |

Please let them do Fsc in pre-engineering. There is no match between Engineering and Diploma. Engineering is definitely better than Diploma with higher earning potential. May Allah help you and your nephews. |

I would recommend that thibnk about ACCA..its a professional accounting course..having lot of potential..growing very fast in the world..check the website for more details.
with good efforts, he they can pass ACCA in three years,,then they can do masters or even can think of becoming a CPA! and its not a joke! |

My Experience.
I am an Electrical Engineer from UET Lahore & working in UAE since 1978.
1. Got my eldest son admitted to Electrical Engineering in a University in UAE. He switched to Information Technology without informing me. I cam to know after his first year result. Encoureged him to continue with what he had selected. He passed with distinction but did not want to work for others & joined my business. After three years he went for his MBA in Greenwich University London & is Now working as Assistant Manager Relations & Wealth Management in a UAE Bank.
2. After FSc my daughter went for BBA from a UAE University. Started a job in the same University in HR department. Did her MBA from University of Woolongong in Dubai & now works for National oil Company of Abu Dhabi.
1. My youngest son did his B. Com (Marketing) from University of Wollongong in Dubai & now works for National Health Insurance Company of Abu Dhabi.
The purpose of all this long story is to point out that I took the back seat from the day I came to know that my Eldest son had changed his major without informing me & allowed my children to decide what they wanted to study.
Based on my experience I would suggest that "Let us allow our children decide their carrier/field of study. Let us not impose any thing on them. But we should always be available to help them achieve what they are trying to achieve"

Dear AG. I appreciate your approach and recommend the same to all parents. However, you are in UAE, multinational, muticultural sharp minded youth brain. In Pakistan, parents must not give total freedom in terms of good guidance. Paents should eplain in a better way to kids the pros / cons of each decision so that in future no one regretes. |

From all valuable information / advises i just reach to conclusion that i will ask to both nephew what they want , i think they will again go to FSc and insha Allah i will do same
One more important question they are studying at small town and there is no good staff for teaching i want to admit at Lahore any reasonable college
Can some one suggest reasonable college for above said Childs with having marks 705 & 587 (together) . I know these marks are very less for good College like GUC and FCCU. |
