CMY SB:I know DHA allows side-by-side pairs of plots to be merged but Do you know if DHA allows back-attached plots to be merged as well? If I have 4 marla facing MB and also the 4 marla right behind it FR, can I make it into an 8 marla with two sides open? Also similarly if I have two one kanal plots with back-attached, can i make them into a two kanal plot?

Yes DHA allow you to have back to back merger and construct on 8 marla plot merged plot. You can merger res back to back too but I you will have to double check res plot merger policy from DHA again before any deal as they have right to change the policy any time.
