CVT and Stamp Duty,

I am buying a 10 marla plot in fazaia. Before the deal i was told that there would be only transfer fees. But now they are telling that government has imposed cvt and stamp duty and i have to give additional 40K for that ? What are CVT and Stamp duty used for and are they applicable to lahore fazaia scheme ?

There is revision of DC rate (Government's base price for taxation etc.) for this society, from July 2011, therefore, the CVT and Stamp Duty values are increased. I have also experienced this.
However, for your satisfaction, you should confirm details from your dealer or society office.
