Dear Friends,

Is "mosque" the right word to name a "Masjid"?
I have been told that this word also used for some other bad meanings!

I have heard before also about Mosque having some alternative meaning also did a quick search on wiki and

but no where can I see a conflicting meaning? Can someone please pass me a valid reference if the word Mosque should NOT be used ? Thanks

A lot of things have happened against Islam in dictionary as well, done by “Bani Israelis”.

For instance could someone explain using the word “mecca” in the famous English saying below?
“Las Angles is the “mecca” of gamblers!
Another example!
Allah named all of the “Ahl-e-Emaan”as “Muslims ” starting from Adam to Mohammad (PBUH) but the Jews call us as “Ismaeelis”!
Again Wikipedia or some other English language source will keep silent in this regard?

This thread shows everything that is wrong with today's muslims. SAC posted the picture of a beautiful mosque or masjid and the muslims have entered into a discussion into whether the name mosque is correct. We need to read the writings of Syed ahmad khan and Allama muhammad Iqbal because the muslims have started wasting their time in petty discussions which have absolutely nothing to do with the real spirit of our beautiful religion. We need to get out of this "mullayiat" mentality and actually focus on deeds. No wonder we are witnessing the deterioration of Islamic communities the world over.

Sir Sayed Ahmed Khan was convinced of “Incarnation (the very famous theory which Hindus believe!”), during the last days of his life,
Our Islam is very modern and is there for all times but not up to the point where we alter it to re-align with Hinduism or some other make shift beliefs to override the true Islamic rules, which do not allow us to enjoy some of the modern life luxuries and benifits!
Please read Dr. Zakir or any other respected scholar who is far from Mullas.
Dr. Iqbal never ever said anything like S S Ahmed Khan did!, He did a great job for Muslims, though!
Please do not mix Dr Iqbal with SS Ahmed Khan.

Brother! we are being humiliated in the World not because of the fact we are primitive in our Islam. It is due to the fact we have been diverted from Islam and ignored Allah's orders?

@ Student I have never ever heard that Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was covinced of incarnation. Do you have any AUTHENTIC source to quote or do you consider it islamic to spread allegations about a fellow muslim's belief without proof?

Did he ever PREACH reincarnation to anybody? If it was just a thought that crossed his mind how do you know that two days before his death he did not reject the thought?

At least Sir Syed Ahmed Khan did not spread rumors about others.

Mr. Student, once again I will say that your response is another example that so many muslims have great knowledge of petty issues like whether we should call mosque or masjid, namaz or salat, ramzan or ramadan but absolutely nothing to contribute to the real issues facing our ummah. As for Syed ahmad khan, I really don't care what his personal views were, one of the reasons you and me are free in a country called Pakistan is because his war against mullahs and fundamentalists, who ever since the mughals were more involved having hours and hours of discussions on absolutely meaningless topics in religion.

And your suggestion that I implied that we are being humilated because we are primitive in our islam...when did I say that? I am glad your name is student so obviously you need to study more. There is nothing primitive in our religion. All we need to do is get out of stupid discussions on meaningless issues and focus on the core of our religion.

all said well , but what is harm in avoiding confusing-doubtful words and using our own islam related words original from Arabic ,

after all masjid is related to a specific place and must not be translated . George is george in english or africa .
and we shd not let english/ jewish writer to confuse us.

I will find the book and will come back to you with proof about SS Sayed.
In the same book it was quoted that He also did not believe the “Merqaj-e-Rasool PBUH”.
He wrote that our Prophet PBUH dreamed of it but did not do it actually!

You are absolutely right on two things:

Nobody knows about the inside of anyone. Yes SS Ahmed in his heart may be different than He talked about and wrote about the matters of Islam.
As for Masjid is concerned, you can go ahead and be happy to be called as a mosquitoe, I would rather go for the Arabic name, the language of Jannut not of the “Gora Sahab’s”

I fully agree with Mr.Muslim and totaly dis-agree with Mr. Student.
I would like to comment on fake dr. zakir, he is their to spread misinformation. He is a stooge of foreign agencies to belief of Islam in minds of simple Muslims.

Check the interview of former ISI cheif General Zia ud din butt who busted a ring of about 10 mullahs working as imams in Pakistani mosques but were originally RAW agents and were hindus.

It is also well known that all well known radicals at some point of time were working for CIA or MI6, no wonder radicalization of Muslims of UK was a plan to defame the popular Islam.

Dear all , please dont go in bad discussions, what our Holy Quran Karim say Masjid,please read as, for mecca, always write Makkah and for Mohd always write Muhammad, for right thing you will get uger fro Allah(swt).
I have received two articles from islamic web, if you read that will
open eyes and mind that since long non muslims are playing with muslims. I dont know how to paste and also If CMY SB allow for that.
