DHA phase 5 extension location is probably one of the worst locations in all of future DHA. It's unfortunate that when we talk of "good location", we mostly mean how close the area is to big roads, airports and existing phases of DHA. I feel that's a very narrow criterion for defining a good location. If you have a plot which is closest to all attractive features of a society but is facing a village, would you call it a good location?

The site earmarked for phase 5 extension contains one BIG village and a large number of smaller housing units. The side facing ring road is mostly owned by private owners who will never sell it to DHA. One the southern side you have another BIG village called LEEL and on the eastern edge you have the kamahan lidhar road which too is infested with small build up units. Now my question to you guys is...if DHA draws a rectangle map on this side and shows you a beautiful yet blurred map in its publications, does that mean that all these negative features have disappeared from the ground? The village will always be there, these scattered houses and shops will always be there. Don't be fooled by dealers and other people with vested interests into believing that a plot located in the vicinity of so many village-quality houses is worth 40 lacs. For people who need a reminder, look what is happening with V block of phase 7. On their map, they are still showing a beautifully townplanned sector located next to golf course and all major approaches to phase 6, but I don't need to mention that it has now become one of the least sought after blocks of phase 7 because of the ground reality.

Anybody interested in buying in 5-extension should visit the site themselves or at least analyze it from google earth. doesn't mean if a file has become "hard to find" or "no sellers" it implies that it has become a good investment. Go for areas which are clear on ground and offer you a good environment. For example U and T blocks of Phase 7 are one of the most beautiful blocks of all future DHA because they are absolutely free from any negative features. But these blocks don't qualify as "good location" as per the standards floating these days. Even the DHA town in phase 9 is a good location, with clear land and with no village in it.

So friends, i will strongly advice you to stay from 5-extension. If you are a gambler, then anything is ok but if you are somebody who can only buy one plot and wants to play safe please stay away from 5-extension. Phase 9 is a much better option. Most of phase 6, Blocks U, T and W, parts of R, S, P, Z and Y in phase 7, only those blocks of Phase 8 which are a good distance away from the villages and graveyards and ring road, S-block phase 8 ( another good location but often ignored by people), most of DHA town and also phase 9 files; I feel these are all safe and sound investments.
