Urbanization is the process of migration of Rural Population (People living in rural areas i.e villages etc.) to urban areas (Cities & towns etc) which is a continuos large scale process in Pakistan mainly due to economic reasons. Although the Tile of the article does'nt give a clear picture the author, perhapes, is trying to emphasise that to meet the requirements of this Urbanization process it is extremly necessary to have basic infrastructure (Roads, Water, Power, Sewarage & Telecommunications systems with proper planning) in place. The article is an honest & extremly important effort to highlight a very important issue which is related to welfare of our future genrations for all times to come. The unplanned development of housing colonies in & around big cities not only make lives of their residents miserabl but also do not allow them to struggle & contribute to the welfare of their familes & development of the country. This situation leads to crimes. In the end I would like to point out that due to rapid increase in world population & rising energy costs food prices are rising worldwide & agriculture based economies will be more comfortable in the cominig decades. Further Pakistan's own population is increasind rapidly for which we will need more agriculture products. So we, as a nation, must plan to discourage the migration of rural population by making them comfortable in their present places. We must also modernise of agricultuer system to make it competative. I congratulate the author of this article for bringing such an important issue to this forum. Regards |
