What documentary proof is required by the FBR for remittances from overseas?
I recently deposited a bank draft from Saudi Arabia in Faysal Bank-Karachi (funds were cleared through Habib Bank - the correspondent bank). The bank's staff member advised me that they could give me a certificate of remittance until the clearing bank confirms it.
The bottom line is.....will the FBR accept the deposit slip and a copy of the bank draft as documentary evidence of remittance from overseas?
Any advice on this would be appreciated.

They will accept it But best advice is 1.Keep a record of your Pay Slips if you are getting salary. 2. Keep your account in one Bank In Saudi where salary/income comes and get Periodic statement and keep record of it. 3. Try to use one account in pakistan and send direct remittances to it and then use it for any purpose and preferably pay by pay orders. Still there is no godd monitoring of money coming to Pak and they want to encourage as much as possible, In Future if there is some change of Govt and we have strict scrutiny the above mentioned things will be hlepful |
