Asalam O Alaikum,

I want to know if a plot in an LDA scheme can be divided into two separate/independent plots?

Is it possible that 6.5 marla plot is divided into two plots of 1.5 marla and 5 marla? Will there by any issue/complications with selling/buying such plot(s)?

If that 1.5 marla plot is adjacent to my house, can it be considered as a part of my property on buying?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

Ali

No you can't. You shall have to find some other solution to your problem, which you have not explained. If it is inheritance then the second party can be paid/compensated by paying cash.

Thnx for your response,

Actually, there is a plot adjacent to my house. It is not good in terms of dimensions, some of its part is completely useless for the owner since it width of few feet. However, for me that can be a good part of land since it will become part of my backyard. So before negotiating with the owner, I wanted to find out if it is possible. I have heard that a plot can be divided into 2 but I am not sure if I am thinking on the right track?

Thnx again,

Ali

In this situation contact LDA and find out how that plot is identified in their record and what are the dimensions. You can then start from there. It may be fully numbered and identifiable plot with odd measurements. That way you will be in much better position to articulate your deal.
