Khalil Bhai Mr. Jameel is right. To run an hotel, even a small one, you need more than one persons of your own family (brother or son only)& need a lot dedicated work without break.
However, it may sound against the ego of some, I have done a bit of home work on a ""Gents Hair Saloon". In short if your saloon is at the right place you will have an average income of PRs. 2500/- per day per chair in your saloon. The space required per chair is around 4.5 to 5.0 ft. So a 30/40 ft long shop will accomodate 6/8 chairs. So the saloon will earn 15,000 to 20,000 per day. If we take a net profit of 30% of the income (after accounting for all the expenses)the daily net income of the saloon will be 4,500 to 6,000 which amounts to PRs. 135,000/- to 180,000/- per month. which, I believe, is enough for a family to live comfortably.
So far the investment is concerned a good shop fitting will cost you less a million PRs. & you will need to have two persons to supervise the shop (yourself & one more reliable person)
Other good businesses are Stationary Shop, A coffee shop with a frenchise from some good bakery manufacturers but their location is important because you will be targetting student community.
