Dear Experts,
Please advise pros n cons of plastic water tanks and RCC water tanks for domestic use

RCC Tanks.
1. Costly & take time to build.
2. Have better thermal insulation than GRP tanks.
3. Evaporation from the outer surface have a cooling affect & keep the temperature of insde water lower.
4. May experience seepage & cause damage to itself & surrounding areas.
5. Very difficult to clean properly.
6. Very difficult, time consuming & costly to rebuild/replace.
GRP Tanks.
1. Cheap, Quick & easy to Install & connect.
2. Easy & Quick to clean.
3. Cheap & easy to replace.
4. Poor thermal insulation. Inside water temperature directly affected by ambient temperature.
5. High Temperature of Inside Water May Cause Some Chemical Reaction leaving the water UNSUITABLE for Drinking. IT Is Extremly Important That Rooftop GRP Tanks Are Covered by Permanent Structure/Shade so that Summer Sun Does Not Shine Directly on GRP Tanks.

I got constructed RCC tank for my home in 1994. Fortunately it came under a tree shade and believe me it is simply fantastic. No problem whatsoever so far. It is properly covered and needs cleaning perhaps once in a year. It had cost me quite a heavy amount but I found it excellent.
I think fiber tanks cannot give such good performance. |

i also have rcc tank in my house last 20 to 30 years.it is under a small tree.water remains tooo much cold in summer season and we enjoy to much to take bath in summer season.we have not face any problem of cleanliness.roof of tank is very thick thats why water is very cold in summer season. |
