How minimum should be the basement roof height from the ground floor level to allow ventilation. Is 2 feet sufficient ?

2ft is sufficient but ideal is if you give a duct from central room of house like living of any other room which has opening for all rooms and take that duct to roof like chimini and make cross ventilators at openings |

ideal size for duct is 4' by 4' but u can adjust as per your area also give the opeings at GF and FF levels |

do not ever make a basement if you are not REALLY IN NEED as it is very difficult to seal it completely to resist water leakage and carrion and if you really wanted then do provide ventilation from all sides and provide a corridor all the way around. Height of basement should be same as other floor and not less i.e 10 to 11 feet |

Bahria allows a basement height of 12 ft.

thanks, However i want to keep it minimum so as to avoid having too many stairs when going from porch to ground level. 2 feet for me would be sufficient which would allow me to have a ventilator window of around 1 feet breadth.
My usage of basement is to take refuge in hot or cold weather. |

mr shahid 9 feet is very good hight of a basement.one of my uncle has a basement in his two kanal house and its hight is 9 feet.its a very standard roof size and he has no proble with this basement no any leakage of water.i also have intention to make basement in my 10 marla house INSHA ALLAH. |
