In response to an earlier question “tubular skylight”
“Do you know, if tubular skylights (to catch sunlight and bring it to ground floor for illuminating home with natural light) are available in Pakistan?

What an Idea and what a question!
A great thing to have in the basement, a real food of thought!
When I was in my high school, we made this gadget and it worked great, diverting the light by placing mirrors at 45 degree angles, facing each other, and then cascading them up to the limitless directions and shapes. We made them in a “U” shape and in a “Z” shape.
I am surprised why intelligent readers did not respond to this question to enlighten the people with less info and less knowledge in this regard?

It is very common in european countries, may search from google, but still not available in Pakistan |

I think this a good idea. I live in California where Sun is usually all year long and Pakistan and especially Punjab is somewhat similar. My guess is that the only reason it is not being use in Pakistan is due to security situation and people don't feel comfortable about it. |

The transmitting tube could be made 6*6" or even 1 Ft, all the way from the roof to the basement or any other target areas. We can have a nice well lit shining basement all the day till sunset.
The only problem is that a man likes me having less knowledge must be helped on how to pass the tube as there have to be 45 Degree angles measured exactly, otherwise it will never work?
From the side galleries, may be, or a built in provision through the walls down to the basement and when the tube needs extensions, how it could be done and also utilized optimally?
I am sure the mirrors would be available somewhere, just designed for this job! |
