in old houses earth and a layer of sand was used instead, the most imp issue is leveling the floor, the labor is traditionally comfortable with that, I have seen some low cost houses where Concrete slab [lanter] is directly plastered, in that case special casting materials[kalab material] is used.
with new advent of false ceiling some Thekedars are not plastering inner side of ceiling |
