Dear Construction Experts,
I am planning to build my home in DHA. I am looking for different floor plan ideas for my 500 sq yards plot, beds bath number, dimensions, do and don'ts for ideal design, how to deal with architect. Please advice and share your personal experiences.

It's DHA Lahore or Islamabad ? For DHA Islamabad there is a list of registered architect on their website. (dhai.com.pk)

Dear Friends
I also went through the whole process and finally I met an excellent archetect in Lahore through a friend. If you want to contact him I can give you the number. In market the architect ask 10/15% if you want them on turnkey basis. If not they charge 3 to 5%. It is better if you settle lum sum.

architects and builders are in thousands.but believe me...................thake dar aur woh bhi eeman dar.................its nearly IMPOSSIBLE.as most of architects have their own construction companies.they will start with you at 1800/sq ft.then making excuses of price hikes they will take you upto 2500/sq ft.also they will start using low quality material,wood,doors,insulation,everything.as u have signed the contract you cant back out.if you argue they will leave some loop hole in construction which you will regret whole life.THIS IS MY TRUE STORY. |

To get design services from architects are fine and then the best is to contract for labour. Purchase best possible material yourself, you will safe lot of money.
I build my 10 marla house, purchase of best material, my brother supervise the work on daily basis, and output is excellent. |
