I think LRE web-site is one of its unique kind in Lahore to discuss property matters. Being a software engineer, I have few suggestions to improve the web-site.
1. Introduce user registration system. This will help in keeps discussions safe and personal. At the moment, anyone can use any name to disguise others. The administrator can reserve certain users for its own use like LRE, CMY, Adil etc.
2. Follow the design format of famous blogging web-sites. This will help to bring top-discussed topic on top of list (see www.expat-blog.com)
3. Introduce e-mail notification system i.e. update about daily price updates, users comments to a discussion etc.
4. To save money, such a project can be developed with the help of bachelor and master students of any of the good ranking college or university like punjab university, COMSAT, FAST, LUMS etc. You may have to pay some money to students but the output can be really good.
Others are welcome to give their suggestions.

nOt bad idea mate but whats the point to make it more secure anyway? I mean ppl dont do any buying purchasing on this site . Its only discussion and it wont harm no one, Also introducing registration will reduce the number of users .. |

We have considered the above mentioned suggestions several times, especially around the beginning years of the LRE discussion fora and LRE websites. We agree that there are some benefits of the suggested approach but re: a discussion/ads forum those benefits come at the cost of compromising the main priorities of our visitors. Ease of use, visitors’ privacy, and up to date information are among the top priorities of this forum and LRE websites.
Most of the valued visitors of this forum like it Simple and Stupid as it is , so in the end after giving the suggestions careful thought, we always decided to leave it as is. The search features suffice for the historical research, part of which gets obsolete with time anyway. Most recent posts represent the most accurate picture. When and where needed one can use search feature for to get more in depth knowledge.
There are many people practically ADDICTED to this website and they might not like any major structural or access related change. It is so simple than anyone can ask a question or reply in just a couple of minutes.

The detailed housing schemes' maps super imposed on Google satellite images at http://www.LahorePakistan.Net is one of the prime examples of state of the art map presentation, and we are proud to say that thousands have benefitted from this and many other free of cost services offered by LRE. |

Hi LRE,
I agree both with you and Ahmad.
Would there be a possibility that you give an option/choice that either user can use this website as it is or can register themselves to keep their UNIQUE IDENTITY to have a unique ID / Name against their registered email address.
For example if Ahmad wants to have his unique ID e.g. 'ahmad', no one else can use his id especially when he has registered with a valid email address or if Mr. 'XYZ' wants to leave his comments or to post any add without registering his id, Mr.'XYZ' can still use it the usual way of LRE.
Please think about this.

Any one can send an email to lre786@gmail.com and reserve his name. We have been doing this for many years. Once name is reserved you get a password. No one else can use that name but you.
See example of CDW he is using his reserve name since past 7 years. |

I would suggest to introduce only RSS feed for /Ads page. this will help us to see the updates in our readers ( e.g google.com/reader)
