Dear All,
I am living in UAE and planning to send one big solar panel china made for home use. I have some doubts if all brothers can share their experience and advise me.
1. Is it allowed to import the solar system for home use?
2. How much duties are levied.
3. Is it allowed by Govt. to use the solars panels for domestic use?
Pls. reply and advise.

u can get very good quality solar pannels even in Pakistan. |

Dr.Khan Sb. is it allowed by Govt. to fix the pannels at home or any restrictions as one of my friend told me WAPDA does not allowed to use for domestic purpose. |

I don't think there is any restriction imposed by WAPDA or any other authority on installation of solar system on residences. |

Subject to prior approval by AEDB (Alternative Energy Development Board), you can import solar power equipment without custom duties, install at home and connect that to mains grid via recognized grid-tie inverters.
The key to ease in whole process is the level of cooperation you can squeeze out from AEDB. In my perception as of now they are not helpful until pressed or greased.

Why does money of overseas Pakistani has no value as foreign investor?
