AoA,

I have decided to move back to Pakistan (Lahore) from Canada after living here for quite a few years. I have a total of about 6 crore RS in cash and assets in Canada and don't any asset in Pakistan. I plan on building a 1 kanal house in DHA phase 6 and start an environmentally controlled dairy farm! I have studied the feasibility report on smeda and I see a lot of potential in it. What do you think of my plan? If you have any other suggestions please do recommend! I don't want to deal in any interest related investments etc, but other suggestions are welcome

Can some one tell us the price of the commercial plot on main boulevard of dha phase 6? Are there currently any plots available? If yes then what is their demand? Real estate people please help us?

Mr Canadian. Your plan is wonderful. Go for it and follow it in letter and spirit. In Pakistan need entrepreneurs and not traders. With regards and best wishes.

dairy farming is good business, environmentally controlled farming will give you an edge in terms of breeding times and wellbeing of the cattle, however, it may not give you a cost advantage as it would be more expensive to run and finding the right buyers may be a problem. Still, it is something that I am already looking at from abroad. I am also looking at hatchery, lower investment, better returns, good business. Best of luck my friend.

As little knowledge of Business in Pakistan (Like Dairy Farm) Actual study in Pakistan from any Farm would be necessary, nor a farm every business is necessary . Smeda study may be differ for actual due to passing of time and some hide things. Before start this please visits on ground any business in Pakistan.

thanks a lot for your opinion everyone! I don't think it will be feasible for me to buy and construct a plaza within that budget and also build a house. I believe a 1 kanal house in phase 6 will cost around 2-2.5 crore! That leaves 3.5 crore to start any business. Like I said before I don't have any other asset so buying and constructing a plaza won't be possible. What's your opinion on environmentally controlled dairy farm? I was also considering building 3-4 5 marla homes and sell them for a profit. I'm not sure which one is the better option??

Other business ideas welcome!

Looking forward to your replies
Jazak Allah

Can you provide information on the investment required for start an environmentally controlled dairy farm and how much return can you expect per month?

silentprotector3 replied on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 03:29 PM

@Adnan thanks for you advise

@Ali of course I will visit the ground realities in Pakistan before starting any venture!

@Jamal Khan. The initial investment required is around 2.5 crore according to smeda! THey used a 50:50 debt capital financial structure and their annual profit was around 36 lakhs so the monthly should be around 3. If you used 100% capital then I believe the profit would be close to 5 lakh per month

Hey Mr are you out of your mind , why you want to lose your 6 crore of your hard earned money going to pakistan to invest , please give to good cause charity rather than greedy people in pakistan will eat all of it.

Pakistani replied on Thursday, June 28, 2012 12:13 PM

AOA, I partly agree with Khan bahi. However, My suggestions are:
once you come to Pakistan. DO NOT SHOW OR TELL ANYONE that you have this much of amount or even that you are coming from Canada and willing to start a business in Pakistan. Use any CLOSE Relative as a Front Man ( Pay him monthly salary not commission or partnership) - He should get information on your behalf. Use a low profile vehicle while commuting. LOW PROFILE is the key word to save your life, kids and family inshallah.

Consider EVERYONE is a thief in Pakistan and with this mindset, you will be more careful. Although its not true. there are 1% Allah fearing people as well in Pakistan, but you dont have time to investigate that... right.

People coming from abroad are simple, honest and Environment Friendly. I am also living in KSA. however, once you go to Pakistan, you wish things are ideal but they are not. Once PTI will take control, I, you and all of us will flood to Pakistan, but we need VOTE and WAIT for that time. ...

any way my next suggestion for you is NOT to do any TRADING. Buy any plot/ Property where you can get a rent. once this rent covers your bottom line ( ur family home, education and all monthly expense). Join any good company where u can get to know the business and people around you or make a small office and start meeting people. advise people on immigration or business in canada or some thing similar. once you get polluted with the business scenario of Pakistan, do something of you own but do not compromise on QUALITY AND INTEGRITY. these are the USPs of expatriates and those who need a success in Pakistan as its RARE over there...

cheers...

@Khan bhai...there are good and bad points about every country, but Pakistan is my home country and I consider it my duty to help my country with all my power and leave the rest to Allah SWT!

@Pakistani thanks for you advise I will consider the immigration consultancy service!

@Jamal Khan I forgot to mentionin my previous post that the feasibility study was based on 50 cows!
