Every Government organization does welfare for its employees after retirement. So do the armed forces. If the PAF had started off with the Alhamra Avenue Housing Scheme then it was in line in same spirit with many other Government organizations. I know many societies around Islamabad which were developed by many well-known organizations (some of them began more than a decade ago). But they are unable to come up to the required expectation uptil now. The Pakistan Railways perhaps possesses the best property/estate mostly in the middle of the cities in the entire length & breadth of Pakistan. But to my knowledge they were unable to develop any eminent housing society till to-date. Whereas, except of some problems. The DHA's all over Pakistan are known for their credibility, transparency & value-addition despite the fact that they are generally situated in the outskirts of the main cities. Though you have given reference of Tarnol & Regi Lelma being started off by the PAF. But perhaps you forgot the PAF built famous `Fizaia Housing Scheme' (which is adjacent to the hillock bearing `Unity, Faith, Discipline' on main Islamabad Highway). I am not a property expert. But I have learnt that it is right now one of the hottest property location in the Rawalpindi/Islamabad region. I personally know few residents of this society who left Islamabad after decades of living there only to migrate to Fizaia Housing Scheme because of its serenity, calmness, peacefulness & secure environment. So let's hope that Alhamra Avenue Housing scheme also develops to same level one day like all the better schemes in & around Islamabad. Inquiry replied on Sunday, July 29, 2012 05:07 PM
