Could you please let me know about the procedure of property tax calculation? The old wesite of Punjab Government had all the details, but the new one is blank. There is no information about property tax. If you know something about the issue, please do share with the people on this site.

Mr. Amjad, People are not interested to answer the question because they do not pay property tax, and they do not want to pay in future, too. So, find some other forum. Here they only discuss how to earn as much as possible and how to save as much as possible. They do not dicuss or have time to discuss how to pay and how much to pay for the country. Sorry! If my words hurt someone!

I have some vague idea.
Property Tax is due like Token tax and if You dont pay it continues accumulating with fines and one have to clear.
Lahore is divided in A B C D areas, depending upon area and covered area an assessment is done by revenue officer and and Tax is payable, Assessment is done periodically 3 to 6 years. Voucher is issued by regional Revenue office.These are delivered door to door but there had been regulations and people Complain they did not get in time.
For example I pay for my old house 10 Merla Double story in B area, 2500 Rs annually, In 2012 is due date was 15 Sept and as paid early there was 12% deduction so I paid less.
It is accepted only in National Bank Like a utility bill.
Rented Houses if declared have more Tax [How much I dont Know]
Commercial areas have even More Tax. Last Year there was an Incident where some shops at Lakshmi Chowk Piled up property tax up to 9 Lac[I dont know how many years they did not pay] Authorities Sealed the Shops and the owners were protesting on the road. I dont know finally what happened. As per rules Owner can be arrested if Property tax is not paid for Many years.

@ Uzma butt Dubai, thank you for condemning us- which is the default mode of many- but I have not come across any one in Europe who is keen to pay tax. It's the system which makes paying tax attractive and avoidance punishable. Our fault is simply not trying hard enough to change system.

Further to the information given y Mr. Jameel, property tax on rented out property is 1s% of the annual rental value. The rental value is also assessed by the taxation authority from time to time as he has mentioned. There arerebatesof 10% or 5% on the payable amounts if paid within certain periods.
