Agreed. Everyone has his own choice. One should have the liberty to plan his dream house as per his requirement and design, of course, in compliance with society bye laws as far as covered area, open space, orientation of the house, ventilation requirements and minimum size of the rooms etc. Keeping all the houses look alike gives an image of govt colonies and barracks. The design of the house portrays the background, taste/choice of the family living in it. Honestly, I put my plan of building house on an owned plot in BT at halt due to this reason. I am living in RC, KSA where majority of houses are same design in terms of window shape/size, exterior finishing/color/material but all are having different floor plan but each house is designed as a corner house having minimum two sides open, they look fine. Case in Pak societies is different, we are having a series of plots in one line with fixed size, the idea may not be a successful one. |
