The thing about insulation is that it is not a magic solution. The summer heat in Lahore is two factors 1) Solar heat 2) Humidity. Jumbolon board makes a barrier between the scorched roof tiles and the slab. The walls and ceilings are noticeably cooler, so you don't get the tandoor effect that usually happens on the top floor. However it can't do anything for humidity and it will still be very sticky so even though I thought there would be no need for AC, it's still needed, but you will save on elec. bill as the room will cool much faster. |
