Dear AH, here are steps to import from China.

1. First search your desired product on alibaba.com get prices idea.

2. Find any clearing agent (can be found in any dry port or on net) and get final price idea (remember alibaba prices are mostly higher about 5%-10% and physical meeting and quantity can decide better prices).

3. Find forwarding agent (for new Raaziq is good but a bit expensive in start but once u give them regular biz, they give competitive prices and credit too)

4. Evaluate your profit compared with market buying prices (mostly Garment come in legal way sometime illegal too. if legal cost is more than cost price, then it is carry item. 80% import this way.. even no need document but again it is bit illegal but comes in legal way)

5. Make NTN and Sales Tax Registration Certificate from any lawyer and it will cost u 10-15k PKR, then Get Registration in Lahore/Local Chamber of commerce in 2000 rupees... then get Chinese visa. first time little difficult but can be done via agents or LCCI as well (only 2 times in year when LCCI send delegation for Canton Fair).

Once you got your desired product from China, ship it via agent or carry and get product in Pakistan.

Precaution: With new supplier or 1st timers, ship product in front of yourself so that you can check quality. Chinese are very good and changing quality according to their profit. They never reduce their profit only change quality.
