This is non propertry topic and would appreciate if you can please reply and guide.
I'm visiting Pakistan for 3 weeks on Eid-ul-Udha and would like to ask your valuable advices what Mobile Phone network is best reputed/quality for high speed DATA / Internet use on IPAD/Table PC/Smart Phone (IPHONE / Samsung) ?
Also, if you can advise what DATA package would suite me best for 3 weeks alongwith economical call rates to ring any Mobile Network in Pakistan.
One more quick request, what would be best place/market in Lahore or online to buy good Tablet PC / IPAD. It doesn't matter if they are made in China.

Unfortunately we still dont have 3G voice/data service available in Pakistan.
So you can only have 2G EGPRS/Edge etc... n better go with best service provider that is Mobilink.
Other option for data on ipad or any tab is to have good broadband service (PTCL, Wateen etc etc) at home and enjoy it thru wifi.

I would have Wifi at home but actually I'm looking for faster internet over Sim Card that could be used on Smart Phone (IPhone / Samsung Galaxy).
Do u know what Mobilink provides speed over Sim Card for mobile phone or do u know any other Pakistan Mobile Network that provide the most fastest 2G / 3G Internet available for mobile phone or Tablet Pc?
Would you or anyone else share their experience using Internet on Mobile Smart phone using a particular MObile network and what would you recommend?

Just enjoy your 3 weeks Eid trip and don't try to be tech smart and net edict. Internet access at home will be good enough for routine surfing. |

@dxb, thanks for your suggestion but I would have VPN access to my work via my smart phone and I have to have better speed internet sim card on my way as I wouldn't be staying at home all the time but meet & greet friends/family in this short time.
Insha-Allah & hopefully, I will try to enjoy my Eid holidays but other than those days I could keep an eye on my other stuff which is why Smart Phones have been invented :)
Please suggest / recommend any good one & that would great favour from you or from any brother / sister like Umer and Persian Frill suggested?

All companies offer more or less the same experience in terms of data plans and internet speed (minus the marketing gimmicks). I'd suggest to simply find out the network that has best coverage in your area of interest and go for it. I'd use the one that is used by my hosts in Islamabad. |

I'd recommend Wateen which is the best and is available in over 20 cities- All other operators are basically using Wateen infrastructure- why not get the real thing. |

Do they offer an prepaid sim card for DATA for 3 weeks?

No, As I said, simply use the sim of the company which is being used for voice and data by your hosts. You don't want to end up having a sim of any company which doesn't have good coverage in your room where you'll be staying for say 25% of your time in Pakistan. Mobilink is ok too.
No sim card for DATA only for 3 weeks.
You can get a Tablet PC/iPAD from Lahore through TCS- simply go to TCSCONNECT website and they'll deliver at your doorstep with warranties and all. |
