dear brothers
please help!!
there is a vacant plot next to our house in dha. the plot is surrounded on three sides by other houses. now one of the house owners wants to "own" the plot from dha office and plant trees and grass in the plot and use it as a lawn.
my concern is that the constant water given to lawn will damage our walls.as the plot is surrounded on three sides by buildings we are amazed that dha did not ask the other house owners for their opinion.
we all have a water logging problem in the area and all the houses in the vicinity have walls that are damaged by water.
i want your expert and fair advice. thank you

When this plot was not in use by new owner even then rain water was there. However, water requirements of lawn are not dangerous for home. I have been living in a home like you and my bed room was hiving a glass windows facing lawn and belivev me it was a wonderful view.
Your plot value has also increased now as it is facing Park now onwards. Cheers |

I would have to say that you need to speak to DHA officials about it and if you are not comfortable about it then it is your right to raise your voice. Also you can talk to your neighbor about it and and you can ask them to leave some space near your home and then do the other area as he wants to, i would actually advise on the second suggestion. |

There you go Sana, you smiled on the comment about Public toilets and that was the purpose of the comment.
on a serious note, i don't think you should worry about it. Just tell them that the trees or bushes they plant near your wall should not have deep roots so that they dont impact your foundation.
DHA has the names of the trees which are forbidden and they had removed it from our neighborhood.
We have been living in DHA since 1986 and I assure you having trees in the neighborhood is a better sight then a barren land that we saw in mid 80s. |
