What is the best way to verify a pay order? Do you take the pay order to any branch of the bank which issued the pay order and ask them to check if this is genuine?

I am also interested to know this as sometimes buyer need urgent allocation letter from DHA. In this case seller has to be agreed in front of higher management of DHA that I've received the payment. For safety side DHA is asking three days to verify payment. But in case of urgency we need to say that we receive the payment without verifying the payment order. Please advise what is the best way to verify the PO on urgent bases.

issuing bank can immediately verify this pay order.

Before giving product /or signing on property , you can take photocopy 1 day before transfer and verify from relevant bank then transfer on next day.

@p.Paki, in this case if you verify the photocopy of the pay order a day before from issuing bank, and bank says it is correct.What if the buyer after our verification from the bank, withdraws that money from his account.So in this case when the next day you claim,money will not be in his account.
is it possible?

??, I feel you live in a unreal word.A draft is issued by bank and it is there check. The person who makes it has no control on that money. All he can do is to cancel it to get the money back and when the draft is cancelled the bank takes back the original. A smarter but still unreal question could have been if bank makes a wrong declaration about its genuineness!

Please be realistic and research some facts before jumping in such questions.

no other risk in pay order except that it may be fake. giving fake p.o. is a serious crime same as giving fake currency. in karachi some thieves "buy" cars on fake p.o. but never heard of fake p.o fraud in property because property is immovable

I don't know in Pakistan but in Kuwait, There is system that, You can give "CERTIFIED CHEQUE" its means that payer account immediately debited when issued certified cheque. so, the receiver of the amount is 1000% secured to get his money. Is this practice in Pakistan is applied.

to cancel a pay order or draft,u can not cancel it if u have issued it,the only way it can be canceld,the person whose name it has been issued,what it means is your bank will ask u to get that person signed whom it was issued to cancel,this is the new rules and it just happend to me,the best way around is when u go to that bank to verfiying the cheque,ask them to open the account inthat bank with the cheque, they will transfer the money there and than.
