Marble Floor Vs Tile Floors,

Want to know which Type of flooring is most like. Marble Floor or Tile Floors. Need comments.

I think marble flooring is long lasting more than tiling but in tiling you can windup your floor work quickly than marble working because in marble working you need grinding and polishing and it requires more time to complete. Look wise both of the tiling and marble, both have their own grace. Rest decision is yours. Best of Luck!!

surely marble is better choice, the life is more than 30 years, grinding and polishing is done at the factory, you bring in polished marble, fix and thats it. Tiles are cheap and look cheap due to the shine, they dont have much life, if they are not fixed properly, they will come out of their grout in a few months and then you will have to redo the whole floor, there are thick groove lines which will turn black after a short span of time and the floor will look crap. There is no comparison between tiles and marble, I have marble in all my rooms and also in the bathrooms, it looks and works great.

Marble OR Tile both are equally good, but tiles are product of new era looks great and no maintenance afterword. Marble gives more homey looks but required high skilled workforce and mechanical polishing.

I will suggest use tiles in heavy traffic area and marble in bedrooms. Don't ever use marble in bathrooms. It needs much more maintenance and get stained quicker. You can also use Tiles on ground floor and marble on 1st floor.

In the end it is all matter of choice and selection of individual.

Marble does look more graceful but one has to be careful in selection of marbles. Marble tile are obtained from marble rocks.All the rocks have some natural fault lines.The dressed tile may have been cut of a rock containing such a fault line.It is difficult to identify the presence of such a fault line & such a tile if present may give way or fine material may come out of the tile body. This is the main problem with marble which is not present in manufactured tiles.
