RBC verses RCC in Slabs
The strength of concrete is 3000 pounds per square inch and that of Brick is 300 psi. In slab the Brick strength will be negligable. It will act as hallow spaces in the slab, thus very vulnerable to failure of the total slab. Constructing a 1 kanal house with RBC will reduce cement by 200 bags but brick is also expansive. The cost difference will be not more than Rs 40000 but the strength differnce will be much much higher in RCC. In RBC your structure will not be earth quake resistant because of the weak spots in your slab.Dont go for Masons advice. Consult qualified civil Engineer and Architects because one builds home once in life time. I do not recommend to sleep with your family under RBC slab. Engr Abdul Mujeeb Khan

You are right to choose RCC slab in construction but earth quake does not impact on slabs directly, for that one should have good foundations and load bearing walls/columns as slabs load is on those walls and columns.

Interlocking of the structure is very important for earth quake porn areas, along with foundation design.
Brick masonry structures, is not applied correctly in Pakistan.
