I am from water log area in KPK ( Mardan) and am choosing to get marbles for my newly built home in a place where the water table is high. I am choosing to get the premium "Verona" but the supplier is saying that the stone is not durable for water log areas and gets damaged ( with holes etc) within few years...since the characteritics of the stone does not make it strong enough...to prove it he showed us one of his stores to see the conditions of the stone he put few years ago...and it was really bad...

i just want to know from people about the durability of the stone....if they are already using it and for how long.....even if you are not in water log area....any other suggestion for a stone with similar shade for verona but more durable would be welcome....

I think he is right. I had verona as well but within three years I noticed there are patches and line marks of broken marble tiles in the area which is washed frequently. You can double check with a couple of experts.

Dear Shahid
I can not specifically comment on Verona since I am not familiar with it. But generally speaking if you see a marble with small holes (dissolution cavities)in it, fissures or fractures or any other sign of weakness, try to avoid it. Select a finely crystallline and well compacted rock (such as Ziarat White etc.)which would relatively be durable. Hope it helps.
