Its a bit off topic

I am interested in building a mosque in lahore. Can any one guide me what are the possible steps to do e.g approvals, registration etc

also, how much money might be needed till its completion?

Please build a school instead.
We have alot of mosques already, and most of them stay empty.
A mosque can only be attended by men, while school can be attended by both men and women.
Our religious extremism is already on top of the world, but our literacy rate is at the bottom.
The prisoners of Ghuzwa-e-Badr were also asked to EDUCATE muslims, not build mosques for them.
Trust me, building a school will help you and your country much more than building a mosque. And it will help you in afterlife as well Inshallah.

Asalam o Alykom,
Their are no such procedural steps needs to be followed. But I will try to list few hurdles you might face.
1- The most important of all is community/neighbors where you are planning to build a Masjid must have their consent, if anybody objects then you might face difficulties in building a Masjid
2- Register your Masjid with Owqaaf Department under the Sect. you follow or Masjid Follow. etc Bralvi, Deo-Bandi, Wahabi...
3- It will be very convenient if you contact Ulema from any renowned Madrasa, they will help you and guide through the rest of process.

Masalam

I agree with Mr. Hasan's idea to built a school instead of Mosque.

School which is combination of Latest aducation and Islamic values.

Make student to do Hifz and make them read and understand Quran from the early age.

Making good muslim is what require in current situation.

Actually there're is no difference between mudrassa and school.
It is actually difference of languages.school is an English word and
Mudressa is an Arabic word.
When u see in ksa,all kind of schools are said Madrassa in Arabic language. In ksa
There is no school or mudrassa attached the the mosques.
Even British schools and American schools are called madrassa in Arabic.
But when u comes Pakistan the meaning of schools ans madrassa are entirely different.

Hassan I understand your point. I too see a mosque as a centralized community center to stay united and seek guidance, be it a man or woman. what you have mentioned is the next step after having a base structure.

My current focus is on details with a financial point of view. Which seems like no one has documented it yet. I'll visit lahore next month and get in touch with molanas to get to know things involved.
