Aleeza or Aliza - is it Islamic name,

Sallam, we are expecting baby birth today inshallah and have shortlisted name as Aliza/Aleeza it's meaning is happiness.

but not sure if it's really Islamic name, plz advise.

I work in Saudi Arabia and have asked couple of Saudis and one Egyptian. They never heard any muslim baby named as "Azeeza or Aliza". They said that it is Greek name. They checked Google where Aleeza\Aliza found as Pakistani name.

The names we Muslims used to have for our kids mostly originates from arabic language, so we associate it as Islamic names, where as the meaning of name matters most. Mansoor has rightly said, the Persian and Turkish language also has depth as far as names are concerned. My daughter name is also Aleeza, and the meaning is happiness as you mentioned, and inshaallah she will bring happiness in your life.

@Wj. Whats your thought for " Azzah or Azza. " note. It's Islamic name & even irs from Quran as well.

There is nothing call Islamic or Non Islamic names??????

Just name your kids , the meaning are acceptable/nice ..Thats All
