Most of the matters have been settled already with F.w.o.Its just formality. LRRs construction is just going to start inshallah.

There is a process in government called contracting. Last time RFP was asked in 2012 so the process has been set back for around 3 years and anyone can wish to bid for the contract now. It's just not FWO that has been awarded contract through single bid.

This is the advertisement in Jang today regarding RFP for Lahore Ring Road southern loop so all the news about awarding contract was probably just a hype and shows the reliability of our news channels. Someone mentioned on the forum that only FWO was willing and that too at a higher rate so contract probably had not been awarded to any firm. Everyone on this forum was jumping that LRR will be built in a year.

The question now is that what will be the impact on societies falling in the way of LRR southern loop as this was supposed to be very positive for those societies? The time line as suggested by many on this forum may now have been pushed at least for 6 months to a year, which is the minimum time for the contract negotiations to complete that too if everything goes by plan? And if there are again no contractors willing to construct LRR?

As I understand, the earlier bids were collected for Build and Transfer (BT). Thereafter, FWO gave a presentation and its bid on Build, Own and Transfer (BOT) mode on which there were news about its award. Now, if you see the advertisement it is a BOT advertisement. Hope the matter gets concluded at the earliest.

One thing is clear that government wants to build LRR till Ada Plot atleast. One month and things will be clear. Alternate road is being built to provide alternate route when Raiwind road will be closed for LRR interchange. I see LRR taking its shape within 6 months time

After presentation by major general afzal MD of FWO they changed the mode from BT to BOT,I know it's open bidding but most probably FWO is going to get this contract,and this time will be this last bidding process inshallah.
