I am oversease Pakistani and have been chasing to get intimation letter for Prism 9 since December 2015 by ringing or to raise online ticket on DHA Lahore but got update from DHA Lahore "As per feedback from our concerned branch the intimation letters with developmental charges of Phase 9 are still in postal process. You will be intimated on your mailing address which is given to DHA. Regarding due date of development charges depending upon the issuance date of the intimation letter. You may contact on the given numbers for further assistance."
Now, my brother went over to DHA Lahore and given them the copy of intimation letter of FILE with my name which I got when I bought the file.
Initially guy printed the intimation letter and told my brother to take from him but then changed the mind said, he can't give it to my brother because he isn't owner of plot but also said intimation letter was sent in February whereas we never recieved that letter on our address and wasn't explained by dha who received that letter if intimation letter was posted by registered / courier post.
Eventually, my brother got printed Challan form with my details on it but was surprised to see, it has "Surcharge on Development Charges" on top of quarterly development charges.
My impression for DHA was positive/different to that of Clerk Badshah of LDA or government departments but realised they are not that different then the rest.
The issue is not amount of surcharge but the way they are ignorant to keep track of whom have they sent intimation letters or not. So my advice is all people who hasn't received intimation / development charges, to visit DHA Lahore personally instead of ringing them as they don't care when you ring them or contact them electronically. They still love the manual way of working :) of old time.

There can be many resons why intimation letter is not delivered, However this incident is may be 1/1000 cases. In that case when printed from automated system how DHA will get to know that this leter was not delived to fault of this this hence surcharge is not payable.
However I would advise you to go inperson to DHA Office and tell them your account if they find it was a fault on their part then they wilkl rectify, If you cant come or you have ninimakl surcharge then better pay,
For overseas people like me I never Found any convinence by paying installments, I have to beg to a realtive on due date and they spare all the day in paying. They undersand less as they are not interested as it is not their property and also get anxietly that amount is not paid properly.
In future pay at least for year [ Future 2,3 installments]or untill you come for visit.
Last month my brother paid 3 installments only one was due. He told me every second person was paying for year or so, Even people were interested to pay all if some rebate is offered by DHA. As DHA know this weakness so they dont offer rebate they know you will end up paying more. |
