Can anyone update me (obviously to others like me, too) about the construction activity in phase 7. I am an overseas Pakistani and want to start construction of my house there. Thanks.

Hello I was just there 2 days before in phase 7 and I had a detail observation. Houses are already started to build there but I won't say too many.

@ismail - House construction has begun already in phase 7 and you do see several houses being constructed. That said, it is a huge phase and it will take time for it to look as filled up as phase 6. Keep in mind that phase 6 was given possession in 2007!

I have a plot in phase 7 and did a detailed visit of area last month. I think two issues are there. one is the approach is not direct and yu have to pass through phase 6 blocks. secondly its a huge phase and construction activity will take a long time to take pace. uptil now its not liveable and scary esp at night

This is interesting to note especially for people who think phase 9 will be livable in 5 years :P - Phase 9 is much bigger than 7.

@dubai: How exactly do you think one gets to phase 5? By crossing through phases 1,2,3 and 4!!

I am from New York and I visited phase 7 just 3 days before. I think it will at least take 5 more years to phase 7 to develop. Construction already started. I really like phase 6 since it is already develop and I will hope phase 7 will look like phase 6 in 5 years.

I agree with jk! But maybe in 2 years, it will look a lot better once more houses are completed and you see several under construction.

Another thing I was surprised when I visited phase 7 was that how much it is underpriced. Just 5 minutes drive from phase 7 you will hit some part of phase 6 and 8 where prices are 2 corors and above. So my analysis in next 2-3 years phase 7 1 kanal price will be over 2 corors as well.

Very interesting discussion. So, how to make any place / phase livable if nobody construct its home there? Just waiting for others to take initiative?
Right now, good number of houses are under construction in R & S blocks, few houses in T, U, V & W but no house in Y block as yet. Phase-7 may take 2-3 years to become populated & right now good opportunity to buy possession plot with limited budget.

@subcon...please open yur google map. enter ring road from any part of lahore and yu will hit phase 5 straight. yu can reach phase 6 or 9 also. but there is no way yu can reach phase 7 directly without going through phase 7. It feels like a part of phase 6. blocks are also same. like it doesnt have its own A block. blocks start right after where phase 6 ends.

@dubai, I am sorry but where do I need to go on ring road? Shadrah? Niazi chowk? Ring road is only beneficial getting out of Lahore. If you want to go to centre of Lahore (Gulberg, centre point, Shah Jamal, Liberty, Barkat market) and even Mall road, you will need to pass through all the phases. OR you take ring road, get off at Ferozpur road which is full of bussess and trucks and take ages to get to Kalma chowk. Alternately, you will get off from ring road near Minar-e-Pakistan and take 40 minutes to get to WAPDA office due to traffic. Let's not be delusional into believing that phase 5 is very well connected. Besides, ring road is a relatively new phenomenon. Phase 5 was on fire even before ring road was operational!

phase 7 as we all know is extremely under priced once in 4-5 months some houses appear on ground rates of all possession plots will sour with rapid upward trend .someone rightly said alphabetically it appears continuation of phase 6 as its blocks start from P,Q,R and not from A block . so its high time to invest in under priced area and enjoy its fruits later on all the best to all NEW Byers

@dubai: I never said phase 7 location is ideal and definitely NOT when compared to phase 8. Please do not misquote me. When have I said that phase 5,6,7,8 are located at same location? You are missing the point. When phase 5 was launched and up until construction had began, it was considered as a far fetched bad location phase that was connected to villages on bedian road. Once it started filling up, that perception quickly changed. Same perception was with phase 6 and look at phase 6 now. Phase 7 is underpriced because it is definitely not the best location but also because prices there are driven by genuine buyers and not investors.

Thanks brothers for all of your replies. It turns into a good discussion and everyone from us learns from others.

As I told I am overseas Pakistani and want to start construction of my house in phase 7, block Y. From the above discussion, I learned that though construction activity has been started but still it will take at least 2 years to be livable.

However, one thing which everyone missed is the construction of Kidney and Liver hospital which is already under construction and scheduled to be completed by Aug 2017. AS far as I think, it will have a big impact on construction activity and plot prices as well.

Since I have a plot in Y block and want to start construction therefore following up the things bit closely. Lahore Knowledge Park is another mega project which is at detailed engineering design stage and and due to be completed (design) by Aug 2016. As per plan infrastructure development for LKP is due to commence right after completion of its detailed engineering design.

Such two major or mega projects are not available in any of DHA phase that is why people who talk about phase 7 weak location, should consider these.

@Ismail Qureshi, nice to know that how closely u r watching thr developments in this area. Your info is correct, Osmani & Co will complete detailed engineering design of Knowledge Park in Aug 2016 & then its construction will start straight away which is undoubtedly mega project in this area and definetly will have positive impact. Next big thing would be expansion of Bedian road & access of Phase-7 from Bedian road through Z2 block. Govt has to give one of the main access to Knowledge Park from Bedian road that why its expansion is must.

There are already many universities and health centers in other phases of DHA as well. I don't think Knowledge Park and Kidney & Liver center is something very different in Phase 7. This is just a hype created in order to get some investors attention.
