Defense road widening,

Kureshi Saab today I saw machinery on ground for defence road widening.
I want to acknowledge that your prediction was correct as on April 6 the you mentioned work will start soon.


Now I see till new kahna flyover they are making new road from raiwind road.

Since you have inside info what do you predict what next wil be made inshallah in terms of ring road etc.

Canal road widening already started cutting of trees which will help SOUTH LAHORE societies.

Not challenging your intellect, but saw on defense rd yesterday from Bhoptian Chowk side a lot of sewerage work is going on. And looks like its just started, so it would take atleast 6 months if they dig complete defense road for sewerage pipes.

Road widening can only start after that.

Qadeer Saab yes sewage lines first and then road work but what I meant was contract awarded and work started. Though ZKB the contractor claiming 3 months timeline let's see. But overall a welcome development what you say.

But for now, pace is really slow. Far slower than Raiwind rd, so I don't think they can complete sewerage work till flyover before 6 months if not a year.

Ring Rd's construction is still shady, every week we hear that the work gonna start any day now.

But its so many months already, latest news I heard was that its awarded to FWO who would build the rd at their expense and then would have rights to collect TOll Tax for 20 years.

I think would start it in a way to complete it before next elections and use it as a seller along with the orange train.

Agree with Qadeer. It would go slow.

MNA/MPA Khokhar's style is that 1st they would make the road condition miserable for few months, would halt the development work, LDA would raise objections etc. So that people would start selling their land/properties. They would silently buy it and then would develop the road on govt funds in a quick manner.

They did same in so many Johar town Rds, PIA main boleuvard, but they couldn't do that in Raiwind Rd project since it served as a Road way to Shareef Palace.

I'm really happy to see such a good discussion. What is future development on Ada Plot at RAIWIND road lahore. Where is opposite newly constructed RAIWIND road will connect.

Hassan bhai , as far as I know , this road shall be completed in 3 months time. Let's hope that the govt stays so that all road projects are completed.

I will update the folks as I get more information.

Btw , I took a ride from bhooptian chowknto gajju matta on defence road and it's amazing. When kahna flyover is done , it will be a matter of 10 min.

I live in gulberg and feel that in future people living in model town , gulberg , Dha , garden town , cantt will use ferozepur road and defence road route even if the ring road is not completed.it's a very good initiative.

But why gajjumata ? This is not defence road it is rohi nala road defence road intersects on ferozepur road near wapda colony and kacha jail road

@Zakir bhai; Ve u saw the road in between Iqbal town nd Johar town ve u saw Kahna flyover which is about to open in a month I guess and wat about the Alternate Raiwind Road these projects completed in between the given time frame aur yes 100% agree wid kureshi if Govt Stay u ll see All projects will complete in the given time period InshAllah aur Vesi bhi Hamari Govt ko Roads banane me kafi dilchaspi he :)
