I have question, I have some money my bank account to buy a property for personal use dont own any house or plot at this time. I alway prefer to pay zakat myself as I know some very needy persons and want to pay them instead bank dedect it from account as I want to pay zakat from my hand not through bank, can someone please guide me if it is possible that bank dont deduct zakat from my bank account so i can pay zakat myself.

Make one CDR (Call deposit receipt) for the available amount one or days before 1st Ramadan and then deposit said instrument to your account again. In this way you can avoid banks deduction and the calculate and pay Zakat by your self. |

Another easy way is to go to local kutchery and prepare declration that you pay Zakat yourself. Submit it to bank and you can rest easy. |

I second withy Sleepless. It is possible now due to the order of the court. Before it was allowed only for certain sects of islam but now it is allowed for all sects of islam. I think the govt paper called affidavit. Just get it and submit it to your bank. But i believe on that affadavit you have to mention the purpose along with your bank & account details.
