So with the new amnesty scheme where property can be declared by paying 1 percent tax, do you think it will have any impact on this dead market ? Will investors bring out their cash ?

Of course it will impact positively for the market. Most of the black sheeps will become saint. Real estate like other commodities gold etc is going to shoot up. Even right now the market has started to show signs of buying since people are very much worried about the budget and the
prices might go up in later half of the year. Increase in 10-15 % prices in 4-5 months. Personal experience. People also have started to store commodities and consumables in bulk. Population will increase. So is the demand for plots. People with hard earned money abroad or local usually invest in Pakistan in property or commodities.

I don’t know how people start to think like property will move up when all indicators are against property.
Current Property
prices still doesn’t justify the worth it’s holding.
You will see a mini fall in property just like stocks and it will last two years at least to come back to the price what it’s holding currently.

Just a personal experience. We as a nation relate everything with dollar. If inflation is going high, so are the
prices of everything.
My comment is with respect to personal experience and for the developed areas like DHA and Bahria. For the investers ofcourse in under developed areas or the schemes which recently began will take time to rise in 2-3 years. But property and commodities are the most secure areas where the money can be parked for people securing for their children or
for building their own house, or even investing long term. Prices in the developed areas havent gone down but stalled and have just started going up recently.

It all comes down to supply and demand. There are way too many plots available in Lahore. Phase 8, Phase 7, Prism,
DHA Multan, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala. And unfortunately not as many buyers.

Punjab Government Approves Development Schemes Worth Rs 3 037 Billion


Two development schemes worth PKR3.037 billion were permitted in the PDWP meeting chaired by Planning and Development Department Chairman Habibur Rehman Gilani on May 7th.

All members of the Planning & Development Board, provincial secretaries of concerned departments and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also joined the meeting.

These schemes were approved in the 24th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of current financial year 2018-19.

The approved development schemes include technical support, research & development, and consultancies at the cost of PKR1.497 billion. The remaining PKR1.540 billion have been approved for the restoration of road from Lodhran to Jalalpur Pirwala Road connecting KLM via Bahadurpur, District Lodhran.

"The NBP Marketing"

NBP Marketing. The newest form of Marketing that I witnessed during my brief stay in Pakistan. NBP might be known as National Bank of Pakistan to a majority, but I specifically meant Naan, Burger and Plot from it. One fine morning, I woke up to the notice of a spring walk which is quite a good step of DHA Islamabad for its residents each year. The moment I reached the venue of the walk I was literally speechless to sight a stall of DHA Phase III Islamabad, selling plots, next to the stall of a Burger and Samosa stall. Whosoever was the GENIUS behind it must know that even a private society in a small town will not sell plot like this. DHA Islamabad is a leader in real estate sector and it has a prestige attached to it. When you employ such tactics not only do you bring a bad name to the BRAND but also to all those millions of families associated with DHA Islamabad. I am sure DHA have facilities, resources and BRAINS who can think better than this. Another thing, I as an overseas Pakistanis cannot apply for the plot online which makes the entire case for targeting the overseas Pakistanis useless. Instead of the NBP strategy DHA ISLAMABAD can focus on a smarter strategy making it easier for the overseas Pakistanis to apply and purchase land in DHA. Best of Luck to DHA Islamabad on its future Marketing & Branding efforts (Fingers Crossed).
