You have asked a good question,
but i believe that it also depends upon the capital(down payment)you can afford.
So you have to mentioned that how much money you can pay in the beginning before Installment process starts.
Regards

How to transfer $$ to USA from Pakistan...?

Hi Eveybody

My life saving in Pakistan is a 10 marls house, Faisal Town, Lahore - now I

have moved to USA permanently with family. Now I want to sell my house and

transfer money to USA. Here in USA my intention is to buy a house for living.

1-Question-1: How I can transfer money to usa legally as per Pakistani and usa

foreign exchange transfer procedure.

2- Question-2: Suppose I get legally $xx amount in USA, Is this $xx amount is

taxable in usa? and how much %age of $xx amount is taxable?

As replied on Saturday, September 11, 2010 05:42 AM PST

In USA their is a big population of Pakistanis Who are called New Daultias (Newly rich) .they have to do something to discuss there wealth and feel good.

saeedusa replied on Sunday, September 12, 2010 12:59 AM PST

Why you so worried about the tax and that's the problem with us that we don't want to pay taxes but you are living here in USA and they give you the opportunity here and why you people want to save taxes and even if you have to pay taxes it's not a whole lot and you won't even notice it.

Jameel replied on Monday, September 13, 2010 12:33 AM PST

I understand if you are not living in House and managing from US then it is big headache.
I discussed with my 2 Pak American friends, They think best way is to pay gain Tax which will be about 15+5% and get money legally to US. 2nd thing is to carry money by hand [cash] Max you are allowed 10K Dollars per trip, I think Max worth of your House will be about 85K $ If Not Commercial, The down side is, this cash money can only be used to pay groceries and small payments. Not for buying house.

SK replied on Monday, September 13, 2010 10:38 PM PST

One possible way might be to open FCY account with Citibank Pakistan and normal account with Citibank USA.

Still I did not receive any info about that if I shall get I shall share, some info is available on Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wood_flooring
But what is local Tech in Pakistan and what it its price I have no Info.

HM replied on Sunday, September 12, 2010 05:53 PM PST

There are two kinds of wooden floor. The real deal i.e. solid wood floor planks, and laminate. Laminate is engineered board with an image of real wood pasted on it. In most cases, the latter is what is being used in Pakistan as it is abundantly imported from China, Malaysia, and laminate is quick and cheap to install. If the floor is level, 1000 sq ft is put in in a day!

As there are too many qualities, I think real wood flooring can run from Rs 400 - Rs 2000/sq ft. A good known name in this is Interwood. There showroom is on Main Blvd Garden Town (opposite Citibank,I think).

Decent quality laminate on the other hand starts around Rs 80 incl installation. Too many sources for this available now, but I myself have gone to KRB Hardware for installation in commercial premises @ Rs 93/sq ft (on Main Blvd, Defence).

Above is specific to what you asked. However, I will take the liberty to offer some unsolicited advice as well, as I have been through this evaluation recently, and installed marble, wood and ceramic tile. In Pakistan, nothing beats the value, look and life of marble. Excellent quality marble in 2x1 pieces, say China Verona without blemishes, comes to under Rs 120/sq ft with installation. This is probably the cheapest in the world. Ceramic tile imported into Pakistan from China is almost all rejected stuff (sold at full rate), and does not have the permanent finish and durability you would expect. Wooden flooring (laminate or solid) is not suitable because we always end up with some kind of leakage that can destroy it. Our environmental conditions mandate daily cleaning, yet servants cannot care for it the way it needs. If you can handle the mess for a couple of weeks, do consider marble. Or keep the wood/laminate limited to rooms with minimal usage.

Thanks HM for your Information and advice, I Think will be helpful for others also
