what will be the impact of 5.28 billion aid on Pakistan's economy? plus the US aid if they drop conditions....are we looking at another boom if that happens?

Kashif replied on Sunday, April 19, 2009 12:50 AM PST

Dear Asif

Nothing will happen even if the aid increases to 52 billion - our problem is not foreign aid but the internal system. There are so many leakages that this aid will not go to the desired projects. Moreover, I think the kind of realestate 'boom' we saw in 2004/2005 was just an exception and this kind of easy money is not good for any nation. Unless we develop our industry and agriculture, we cant grow based on 'casino-like' market of realestate and stock market.

Just my opinion - you can differ!

Regards.
Kashif

MH replied on Sunday, April 19, 2009 03:06 AM PST

5.28 Billion dollars aid can be beneficial only if Gov. develop five big industries with one billion in each in deprived cities(Not like Lahore etc).

nadeem replied on Sunday, April 19, 2009 07:37 AM PST

rulers will eat all this. We request international donors to strictly monitor and provide the aid in shape of commodity as power plants / agricultural machinery / heavy industry -factories / dams / but no cash to these vultures.

tzk replied on Sunday, April 19, 2009 09:08 AM PST

it can be beneficial if spent on infrastructure. Todays news is that attorney general charged govt 1 Crore Plus (10 Million Plus) as legal fee and provincial govt of punjab also paid hefty fee to muslim league lawyers for legal fee that is despite a big
team of govt lawyers on govt payrooll at federal and provincial level

Advice

Dear CMY and Brothers,

I require certian advice to buy a plot and then construct my home. I have a budget for 50 to 60 Lakhs. Out of the Following which is the better option to buy and later on live with family(Security, access etc) as currently i am residing abroad. I am not looking for investment purpose and needs to constrcut a home so i can shift my family back to Pakistan.

1) Buying a 10 Marla plot in Defence Phase 5.
2) Buying one Kanal plot in SUI GAS society.
3) Any Other place in the similar budget

Are there any comparison available long time back i saw detailed comparison of each society on this website. Can any one post a comparison for SUI GAS, Defence Phase 5 and other similar places.

Thanks.

owais replied on Saturday, April 18, 2009 06:58 PM PST

out of the three 10 marla plot is the best option..but the plot will cost you 40-50 lacs
if your budget is only for plot than thats alright...
phase 5 is liveable.
If you dont mind living on the other end of lahore than valenica/wapda/NFC-1 is alternate option you can get 1 kanal plot in your budget there.

CMY replied on Saturday, April 18, 2009 10:37 PM PST

Haroon bhai I wills strongly suggest buying a 10 marla plot
DHA Lahore Phase 5 L block at 40 to 44 Lacs. You will have possession next month to start a house. Its far better than one Kanal in Sui Gas Phase 1.

DHA - PHASE VIII AIRAVENUE is best option

Aatif replied on Saturday, April 18, 2009 11:55 PM PST

You can try the plot in AirAvenue ... or buy a home in DHA Phase-8 Villas. Little more then your budget but this area is expected to be appreciated much more then Phase-5 or any other area in near future.

limo replied on Sunday, April 19, 2009 07:06 PM PST

CMY - what would be the worth of this L Block plot after 2 years, just a rough idea if you could give.

CMY replied on Sunday, April 19, 2009 10:02 PM PST

About 60 lacs

Haroon replied on Monday, April 20, 2009 02:31 AM PST

Thanks Brothers and CMY, but any specific reason that SUI GAS is not better or are there any issues with this society?

Farid-UAE replied on Monday, April 20, 2009 04:28 PM PST

Dear CMY:

what is your view abotu DHA phase 8 villas...DO u think that their
prices will rise in the next 2-3 years.
What is the current price? is it around PAk. 85 - 88 lacs?

Farid-UAE replied on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 01:35 PM PST

Dear Haroon:

have u made up your mind!!! I myself is thinking about buying a constructed house and is unable to decide between

Sui gas Phase 1- 1 kanal
DHA villas
or 10 Marlas constructed house in Phase 5, phase 2 or phase 3

Any suggestions
Budget is around 90-110 lacs

UNable to construct house myself as it is difficult for me to manage the same,,so only option is to buy already built up house

India strikes again !

I felt so disgraced being a Pakistani when came to know that we have been deprived of hosting another big cricket event. Thanks to India's effective "cloak and dagger" style diplomacy that has not only further isolated us in the international arena but also deprived us of the expected heavy revenues. It is widely presumed that BCCI controls ICC with its financial clout (India generates more than 65% of the game revenues worldwide) and as a result exerts deep influence to all policy matters of ICC.
Actually we are the ones who by agreeing to play on "neutral venues", facilitated ICC for such an adverse decision. By doing so we plainly admitted that our country has become a no go zone. If we have a bit of pride and self respect left as a nation, we should immediately protest with ICC by telling to revert this decision otherwise boycott the world cup 2011 event.

Khan replied on Saturday, April 18, 2009 06:40 PM PST

Can we stop blaming others for own mistakes. Do something practical instead of posting messages on forums.

yesss replied on Saturday, April 18, 2009 07:27 PM PST

Khan believes there are no foreign influences on the state of Pakistan. He also believes the world is flat.

Concerned replied on Saturday, April 18, 2009 07:35 PM PST

We should put our own house in order. Why on earth we have to be messing up all over the globe and create such an environment which make our own country non-livable. There are some 100+ other countries on the globe, which enjoy peace & all in life including sports. Why not us, ask yourselves.

Pak replied on Saturday, April 18, 2009 08:54 PM PST

Stop blaming India for every stupid mistake by ourselves and our establishment. India ha got nothing to do with the way our establashment is running the country.

Next thing we will be blaming india of loadshedding in Pakistan, this is totally nonsense.

yesss replied on Saturday, April 18, 2009 09:10 PM PST

It is not about "India." It is about Pakistani leaders being so easily bought and sold by the West as if the people of Pakistan are cattle.

overseas wisher replied on Saturday, April 18, 2009 10:34 PM PST

I am agree with all commments that stop blamming India. We need to fix our own actions and create IT industry with good quality manpower. In pakistan, most of the people are were just doing realestate business which doesn't create any jobs.

Naveed Yaseen replied on Sunday, April 19, 2009 12:51 AM PST

The decision wasn’t unexpected and the security concerns have some weight, especially after Sri Lankan
team attack. Now instead of crying over spoilt milk we should rather hold those accountable who were responsible for this security failure. Had their been some integrity and will from government, this incident could have been prevented by existing law enforcement capabilities of Pakistan. All these jokers had to do was just to provide their own level of security. But unlike that,,, government acts and non-acts before and after this event indicate some facilitators of these attacks inside highest levels of government.

That was home side. Now on foreign side also, there certainly exists a strategic policy of first destabilizing Pakistan and then carrying out organized propaganda campaigns to maximize psychological impact of provoked instability. Pakistan has to counteract this policy. Pakistan has to open lips and hands against overt and covert foreign aggressions.

As an example of what I am trying to say,,, admitted that Pakistan isn’t secure venue for international cricket. Now realistically,,, how secure is India? Reality on ground is that even India’s own domestic cricket has to be played at foreign venues for security risks. No news and ‘views’ on that? Just on Pakistan?

Another similar example, in recent partial election phase of India, at least 50 people have been killed in widespread anti-state attacks. Had this same thing happened in Pakistan during elections, there would have been organized propaganda campaigns all across western and Indian media that Pakistan has become failed state and Pakistan will break apart in 6 months and Pakistan is a nuclear nightmare and so and so.

The point of these example isn’t taking shelter or excuse that it also happens in India. The point is enemies’ policy of destabilizing with left hand and then unleashing propaganda with right hand. Pakistan, to protect it's interests in this law of jungle, will have to counteract this policy. With both hands.

Aamir replied on Sunday, April 19, 2009 02:01 AM PST

With every terrorist attack, while the body parts of the victims are still scattered on the scene of the carnage, we Pakistanis, common citizens and intelligentsia alike, go into an overdrive in denying the obvious. A blizzard of statements like, “these cannot be Pakistanis”, “these are not Muslims”, “this is not Islam” and last but not the least, “this is an Indo-Zionist conspiracy” spring forth from all corners of the country. Apart from being a terrible joke played on the victims of the violence, these statements are indicators of a complete state of denial in the Pakistani nation, and a dangerous one at that.

Let there be no mistake that these terrorists are Pakistanis, they are Muslims, this is their version of Islam and they are SERVING THE CAUSE OF THOSE WHO ARE SPONSORING THEM. Its high time, the highest leadership needs to WAKE UP and Pakistani nations needs to straighten up its prospective.

Ahmed replied on Sunday, April 19, 2009 02:09 AM PST

@ Pak: establishment, army... this is exactly the language of politicians of Pakistan, blame every one else.

IMO, Musheer dakhila should be sacked immediately for his incompetency.
There is no doubt that it is india behind every terrorist activity in Pakistan ranging from target killing to sucide bombers.

FUTURE OF E-12 ISLAMABAD

FUTURE OF E-12 Islamabad
Hello all readers :- Mr.Raja Atiq and Nadeem Mian particullarly : I own a 35*70 plot in E-12/3 what is the future of this may i keep this plot or not.
What are the chances for start of development work??
atiq raja. replied on Thursday, April 16, 2009 08:51 PM PST

future is not good because there is no any development,if development will startes today than it will takes around 10 years ,it is around 15 year long project.
Amjad replied on Friday, April 17, 2009 01:00 AM PST

Illegal occupants are still constructing houses in this sector, near about sixty thousands people are living here and this is not a easy task for CDA to vacate land. I dont think allottees can get possession in 5 years time.
Mian Nadeem Islamabad replied on Friday, April 17, 2009 10:17 AM PST

If u are not in hurry to construct ur dream house & can wait about 5 years then keep the plot, land acquisition issue is critical but expected to be solved in near future, residents of E-12 has surrendered 2500 Kanal land to CDA. I have read the comments of respectable members in past on this forum few years back that D-12 would take 15 years in development. Now u can see despite the inordinate delay the development work in D-12 is near completion.
At present u can purchase a 25*40 plot in G-13 or D-12 in the price of 35*70 in E-12 ,in opinion it would is not wise decision. Inshallah one day Price of 35*70 E-12 will be more than 35*70 of E-11 and G-13 and equal to 35*70 D-12 and u will be able to purchase a 500 yards plot in DHA-II proper or Bahria I to VI after selling plot in E-12.
Remember me in ur prayers whenever u go to holy cities.

I am waiting detailed reply of Raja-G,Nabeel and other readers

Abdul replied on Saturday, April 18, 2009 05:25 PM PST

Dear Hammad
For sure you are having a right investment in hand and if you can keep it, you will enjoy the benefit too. This all depend on your holding power. It is very unfortunate that this sector is taking too long before the start of development and still no one can tell you who much more time it can take further.

Even in this bad situation the price of your raw plot is growing and will keep growing and once there will be a sign of development announced the price of E-12 will shoot rocket high.

I do not know when did you bought this plot and in what rates? But I know this plot can get your money back with good profit if you have the time and patience.

Hammad Ahmed replied on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 12:05 PM PST

Thanks AzadK and Abdul for your advice. I purchased this plot in 1993 with all expenses it cost me 4,60,000.
