Are foreign investors coming back??

Do you think that foreign investors will come back to Pakistan?
I don't think so.... if you think and hope that soon the prices will go back to the high levels of few years back you are living in fools paradise.

Just write off your losses and stop dreaming... foreign money is not coming back.....

WHAT IS YOUR OPINION?

Asim, you made the point but forgot to facter two major changes
1- Govt. put tight grip on HUNDI business, so most people have to send money through banks. Hundi people were not disclosing the right amount
2- Infalation is 28%, so even 18% increase still not making relatives and families to save any money for investments.

and in last line he just changed he mind and asking our openion.

Ok,
now my openion....

Its not the duty of foreign nationals to invest in Pakistan, its our duty to make it good for the investment.

And these market conditons are good for buying low..
The only thing is we dont know that market has hit the bottom yet or not.

Look at the Stock exchanges all over the world.
Prices are 50-80% low in just one year. And most of the people are investing becuase they belive buying low is the best way to make money.

do your research...
life is too short to take baby steps...

You can buy the toys made in china, cloths made in italy, and car made in Japan, but if u live in Pakistan, than you have to construct a house here and you just cant bring a foreign land here ...
i hope you guys will get my point.

take care

CHACHA replied on Friday, February 13, 2009 10:44 AM PST

I am an investor who has in millions all over the world.
Investor will invest money in a place where he thinks his money is safe and he will get good profit on his money. Do you think it applies for Pakistan?

See how zardari and company are running the country , slowly loosing country to Taliban. What positive economic steps have been taken by government to increase the chances of investors to come?

Secondly with the global turbulence in economy investors will keep their money in cash and in dollars, not in rupees.

FORGET ANY IMPROVEMENT or change for the next 4 years. After that we will see if anything happens.

Property dealers should think of starting some other business, they are in wrong business.

There has been slight increase in remittance because of high inflation in Pakistan, A thousand rupee does not buy you the same items anymore, you need 1500 instead and who will send that money overseas Pakistanis !!

Dear Zakat

Allah has NOT told us to cutoff from this world. We have to live in this world and also prepare for the next world. YES we should pay zakat and sadqa but Islam has not forbidden us from investing in realestate and stock market.

The crazy mullahs want us to isolate ourselves and live life like 1400 years ago, they forget that even the Prophet Mohammad PBUH was also doing trading.

As long as the Taliban continues to take control of Pakistan inch by inch, marla by marla, day by day, the foreign investment will diminish dollar by dollar, rupee by rupee, day by day.

It is not possible to understand how the Taliban rule can be allowed to spread and grow. I have a friend living in Peshawar who is scared for his life and family. If a woman is seen riding in the front seat of the car, the Taliban stop the car and beat the driver. What kind of country is Pakistan becoming ??? Who would ever invest in Peshawar. And how much longer until this insanity reaches Punjab or Sindh?

If Pakistan cannot fight and defeat the Taliban, a war with India will be laughable and over in about 45 minutes.

@yess

r u sure your friend lives in peshawar not some away town from peshawar? since my mother daily go with my brother, while sitting on front seat. & btw my family lives in mardan, and they are also scared of taliban because they have reached very close to mardan.

There strategy is to gather all the criminals(In pakistan, most every town has a place where people don't pass late night)& give them money weapons, and let them to implement (FAKE) Shariah. & many people who are dumb enough to follow what exactly islam is, fall for it. & accept it as real shariah. Main points are to think about;

1. Why exactly they are trying to implement a shariah, which they didn't implemented in Afghanistan. (I think they are only trying to defame islam & taliban's name)
2. Who is providing them Weapons & money?
3. After knowing most of the facts, why our government (Hypocrite) is still going towards our known enemies

No offend, but you know, one can not satisfy everyone.

just as a general information.

This accommodation (which cost around 5 pounds per person) is for those who are coming to Pakistan with a family and does not like to spend dearly on hotels which costs (40+ pounds per person a day)

Accommodation and amenities at my place and the
location and the price makes this a good bargain.

you and everyone is welcome, and remember full refunds if anyone feel cheated on arrival.

with honest regards

Poland cancels visit of Pak senators

* Offers $290,000 bounty for killers of Polish hostage

WARSAW/ISLAMABAD: Poland’s Senate on Tuesday called off a visit by Pakistani senators after their country’s negotiators failed to save Polish hostage Piotr Stanczak from execution by his Taliban captors.

The delegation had been due to visit Warsaw from February 12 to 14, according to a statement by the Polish Senate, AFP reported.

Polish officials charged that elements within the Pakistani government shared blame for the killing, AP reported.

Pakistan’s top diplomat in Poland rejected the accusation that members of the Islamabad government were sympathetic to extremists. Meanwhile, the government on Tuesday stopped a four-member Senate delegation from proceeding to Poland after the Polish Senate called off their visit. Senate Secretary Raja Amin said the visit was postponed on Monday evening.

Bounty: Also on Tuesday, the Polish government offered $290,000 reward for information leading to the capture of Taliban who had beheaded Stanczak. agencies/zulfiqar ghuman

asim replied on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 09:17 PM PST

haha this is computer generated but i went to see this airport last month. beleive me 2011 is going to be the year of investment for this region. i saw lots of bulldozers and constructor working day and night.

Amjad replied on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 09:59 PM PST

The area near airport called zone II is at present very good for investment and i hope in two years time
prices will be double or triple in this area.

Fahad Zahid replied on Thursday, February 12, 2009 12:46 AM PST

I thank brothers Asim and Amjad for there info regarding the matter but if anyone is thinking of investing please go your self and visit the area as well as the construction of the Airport.

asim replied on Thursday, February 12, 2009 10:18 AM PST

"The soil of Islamabad has been turning into gold" and hence, is a biggest investment oppertunity available in this region arround G-T road near NIIAP.

Fahad Zahid replied on Thursday, February 12, 2009 12:04 PM PST

There no dought that this area will be equal to gold one day but the key word being one day. 2.5 years ago many dealers told me to invest in this area, they said the rates would be doubled in 1-1.5 years and today they are still the same, the only way they are going to rise is when the airport is operational which might take more than 10 years. Brother Asim it has been 3 years now since the flyover on Thokar Naiz Baigh started and still it is only 50% completed, and that is an airport we are talking about.

asim replied on Thursday, February 12, 2009 11:01 PM PST

fahad sab, i know what you are saying but accoding to my knowledge
prices have raised two times high in 3 years. maybe you have invested in some bad society or something. Open example is G-15. i bought a plot in 24 lakh in 2007 now it is more than 47 lakh and size is 40x80. same for b-17, i bought for just 6 lakh, now it is over 17 lakh. in e-16 i bought for 9 lakh now its over 18. and i have a land near airport which i bought back in 2003 for only 20 thousand per kanal, now if i sale i can get over 2 lakh per kanal. actually timing and proper place is very important. societies which do not have a good reputation, cannot give you good return but timing is main thing and i still think timing is right for b-17 and e-16. development is in last stages. please do visit before buying

Fahad Zahid replied on Thursday, February 12, 2009 11:28 PM PST

Asim bhai I am not aware of and do not follow CDA sector's rates. I was taliking about societies located on Fatay Jung road such as PAF Tarnol and AWT etc. If this is the case then can you please advice as to where I can buy cheap now and can sell at a good price in 2 years in the CDA sectors.

asim replied on Friday, February 13, 2009 03:10 AM PST

its very easy, don't go too far from islamabad. nobody can tell about future but my guess is that it is again time for investment in D-12 if you ask about cda sectors.other than cda i dont find any good place for investment where i can earn something unless i have over one crore rupee. if you look at the societies e-11 small size plots have a charm 25x60 and 30x60 they will go high. in the same amount G-15 sector is ideal for making house and is a wise investment. if you are after cheap then go for E-16 and B-17. soon their rates are going high because cda has planned to connect these sectors with zone 1 buy a margalla road extension. if you go further on fateh jang road then multi F-17 only is a place of investment now but they have land issues. they do not have kabza of over 400 kanal land.however they got noc. you must be thinking that i have all of my investments in these sectors thats why i am telling you all about but honestly i do not have any other option in mind for investment.
only i think that i-14, 1-16, pwd, bani gala, dha, bahria is a different game for other types of investors because these are two opposite regions.

Fahad Zahid replied on Friday, February 13, 2009 03:55 AM PST

Thank you brother for the advice. I think D-12 and E-11 are out of my budget because I think they might be in the 50's and 60's for a 30x60 plot. Can you please tell me the price of a 30x60 plot in E-16, B-17, I-14, I-16. Thank you

asim replied on Friday, February 13, 2009 04:31 AM PST

i am not sure of actual price but rough guess is depending totally on
location and block b-17 and e-16 30x60 should be 8 to 9.50 with all dues charges clear. i-14 30x60 16 plus and i-16 should be 15 plus
