The Assembly has passed the finance bill so after 30th June non filers cannot buy any property worth more than 50 laks. Please comment on its effects on the property market

Dear Friends,

Nothing to panic about. Things were more worse in 2016 when Ishaq Darr imposed new taxes, but nothing happened. Market started moving ahead after 8 weeks when people understood new tax system. Plot which was 50 lakhs in 2016 is worth 75 lakhs today. Its just a teething phase which will pass after elections. My suggestion is buy what you want to buy before 30th june and enjoy the profit after elections. Property market in world is the safest of all investments and will remain forever. In Pakistan there is no investment like property investment because your money stay in your pocket not in market or some one else pocket and you are begging others for your own money.

you will see difference with in 3-6 months......

yesterday dubai allow 10 yr visa for any 1 who invests money in dubai .... money will go out of pak due to this single reason

expected with possession of M N P blocks . hopefully in jul.you can assume that if facing defence road they will double of current price and if closer to main gate on main blvd then 50 - 75 percent increase on current rates

I think we should be more realistic. The days of overnight doubling are over. It will give a good return but not like doubling. Remember non filers cannot buy property above 5 million. This is commercial so way over 5 million.

Well market is set by the availability of liquidity and credit.

The biggest players in the market had been circulating money around Pakistan/abroad and making huge gains but most of the growth was not sustainable. As investors with Billions have pulled out seeking safer investments and returns, it is poor suckers who will be sucked into making investments and will lose out in the short term although not in the long term if you can hold for 5 or so years.

Phase 8 is not overpriced, Prism is twice the value it should be.

Aoa I have a 5 marla plot in B block DHA town which has a value of around 6 million. If I sell it obviously a non filer can buy it what I want to know is that if I construct a house on it will a non filer still be able to buy it. Plus what is a better option stick to the plot for more gain or constructing a house can give better returns. Thanks.

As per the new finance bill (now approved by the assembly) non filers cannot buy any property worth more than 5 million. It means plots and houses and commercial , basically everything
