Here a discussion is going on that an army officer when becomes major gets one plot and he keeps on getting one plot at each promotion........I don't know from where this information is coming.......must be of a non-Pak Army..........In Pakistan Army it is not the rule.......it is on completion of no. of service years....my friend can go to Pak Army HQ to verify this. Yes DHA VIII is better located as compared with DHA VII that is why its price is higher..........

Aly replied on Thursday, November 3, 2011 12:28 PM PST

Nasir
Thank u for correct information. And these plots are given on payment not free.

To whom it may concern replied on Thursday, November 3, 2011 06:46 PM PST

@ MAS Jeddah, It is half true, Actual is like; " Wherever Pak Army plan some scheme, it becomes prime due to its dedication/quality of work. If you are not interested do not buy/live in our army run areas."
@ In Army, for every plot or home, we pay installments for years just like other societies of provincial and federal departments. Yes these may be less as compared to market because actual amount is charged on Islamic way and no profit is included.
Its Pak Army and if you are Pakistani then speak anything after checking..............

EU replied on Thursday, November 3, 2011 10:11 PM PST

Statistics say, When ever a person with army back ground have ruled Pakistan, the country grow in all sectors.
Even this web site was started, when Pakistan was lead by professionalism of army.

Unfortunately, today's Pakistan is ruled by India via media and lies.

Asif replied on Thursday, November 3, 2011 11:24 PM PST

@ali11

It is neither discipline nor education which has resulted in creation of DHAs in Pakistan. Below are the real reasons.

1. Army has unlimited supply of funds for creation of these housing schemes. Nobody is there to question them on expenses. There is as much corruption in Army as everywhere else but nobody is able to expose them due to fear. Remember Gen Zarrar "Zameen". What happened to him after he did all that corruption. Do you think that army people have landed in Pakistan from Mars and are not locals?

2. Nobody can question Army whenever they try to take / purchase land. Everybody including police / media / politicians / general public are scared of this monster.

3. Army has intentionally created this impression (which is correct) that there can be no irregularity in DHA and they have proved it. No problems. But they have been in power in the country for more than 30 years out of 64. Couldnt they do same for rest of the country. Ofcourse not because this would have brought other housing schemes at par with DHA and if this happened then how will they be able to sell their low price plots at huge margins.

4. As far as I know, army officers get one plot per DHA. I may be wrong. Somebody needs to verify this. I have seen army officers having a plot in DHA lhr, one in DHA khi and so on.

If somebody criticizes army, it does not mean that he is not patriotic. We have to stop making army as a holy institution. They are human, can make mistakes (actually have made more than anybody in Pakistan's history) and need to be corrected whenever they make one.

Ehtesham ulhaq replied on Friday, November 4, 2011 03:59 AM PST

Is there any other country where Army has this large commercial interests? I mean they can acquire any land if they need even for their housing projects in the name of National Interest with the minimal wages and then after developing and making some goodwill they acquire the land against plot(25% of the acquired land).

This is called monopoly. No one can challenge as they wud say they are purchasing it at market price. Also at the time of selling they give the prime locations to their clan at a lesser rate than they sell these to the civilians to adjust their costs. Such type of monopoly is considered as a crime in the civilised world.

Ahmed replied on Friday, November 4, 2011 09:03 PM PST

All those who are speaking against army here are hippocrates (soory to say that) who invites them to buy plots in DHA if they think its expensive? For example, how many army officers are living in DHA Lhr and how many are civilians? Come on, show some sense and dont poison people,s mind.
By the way, I am not from Army

Mas jeddah replied on Saturday, November 5, 2011 11:44 AM PST

We love Pakistan not the corrupt (politicians Nor Pak Army) we need to informed citizen that is the only way we can help Pakistan defending corrupt army will not help this cause.

US support pak army during Mussaraf tenure with $ 10 billion undocumented that is official figures from US Senate.

What we have really achieved after spending 60% of our GDP on pak army except they conquered pakistan copple of time

Dear CMY,regards, hope you will be fine.pl can you tell 1-in the major lahore's map on your homepaje one blue thick line is extending between Ellite town and Inmol society what is this?IS this extention of Badian Road and is practically existing now a days. ;2; In same map you have shown phase 9 and HADIYARE DRAIN have some gap(blank area)between them.this distance will be kept practically in future according to your opinion.Because if we invest now and in future your plot will come along Hadiyara drain(which happens most of times with poor overseas plus civilians)then worth of plot wlll be not good both for living and investment point of view.thanks in advance. :h

CMY replied on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 02:54 AM PST

As per my knowledge to date DHA is not buying any land for DHA phase 9 that is 1/2 KM or less away from Hudaira drain .

Reincarnated replied on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 02:44 PM PST

Dear CMY sb
On Hudiara drain, there is a big mill called Nishat Mills, on the opposite side of the drain.

The land right in front of this drain is marked as DHA (by the cement poles bearing DHA monogram) since last 2 years. So DHA 9 has quite a sizable land touching Hadiara drain facing Nishat Mills Ltd.

Just a little piece of info :)

Thanx

CMY replied on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 04:02 PM PST

It is possible that DHA own land there. DHA has right to change their policy any time so they could buy land even facing Hudaira drain.

Most land facing Hudaria drain near DHA9 already have very large farm houses & developed schemes like Inmol / GTS or constructed areas like factories hospital schools etc so 97% plots of DHA phase 9 will not face Hudaira drain even if DHA9 is extended upto Hudaira drain.

BTW Hudaira drain will have a 270 feet road that will run along the Hudaira drain edge and road will run from Ferozpur road Lahore ring road interchange to GT road Lahore for facilitating Wahga border to Moterway heavy traffic connection via future Lahore Ring Road southern loop. Please note this new 270 feet road will run inside of Hudaira drian and DHA9 and than inside BRB and DHA7 to connect it to GT road.

Just a little piece of info :)

Dear Faysal

May Allah make your home a Blessing for you & for your family.
Its easy to say but difficult to experience: a simple solution to your problem is to slow-down or stop the construction activity for the time being OR otherwise you may request a person known to you personally for an interest free loan. An other option is to request the construction material suppliers to provide material on credit if you may have any reference person in between or they happen to know you in person directly, but that will be for a shorter period. OR some construction contractors do extend credit if they carry over the remaining work owing to their market contacts or good personal relationships.
I myself is also experiencing the same situation & thus planned to work in phases. Therefore, I slowed down the pace of construction & believe me, beyond my expectations, Allah rewarded me a considerable amount of extra income which I was not at all expecting.
Last, but the foremost, request, or rather beg Allah for help. If all above did not work, this will work definately Insha-Allah.

Khan replied on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 02:14 AM PST

That happens with over 90% of the people constructing a house. The reason is usually that the contractors who have built many houses tend to paint a rosy picture to the owner who is constructing first house. The estimates and measurements over shoot. That is why it is said that building a house is very stressful job. Having said that, my advice would be not to borrow money unless you are a shelter-less person and have to build one to live. With whatever experience you have gained, build the rest in stages. First stage should be to complete gray structure ie are walls/roofs etc without plaster. Then should come plaster/floor/wood work etc.

Inshaallah you will be able to complete it. I think Pardesi Jeddah has suggested a very sincere and impractical line of action.

Good luck and Allah bless you.

DHA Park view Phase 8 allocation file

I have DHA Phase 8 (Parkview) allocation file of 10 Marlas. Is it advisable to keep it or sell it? What are the prospects that it will materialize in to a plot in near future? Please reply

Regards

CMY replied on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 04:00 PM PST

Price have increase a lot recently. It may be wise to sell it now. People believe there will be ballot soon for these
files so you may want to take chance to hold till ballot.

Please also note DHA 7 almost ready plots of 10 marla including development charges cost 25 to 26 lacs. So you must think hard now what will be worth of Parkview plots of 10 marla after the ballot IF they are located across Berki road in front of LSE.

If you ask me I will say Parkview kanal still have room to grow but 10 marla may not give you much return after the ballot.IF IF and IF they are 1 to 2 km off Berki road in front LSE and in area that wont have any other DHA part on all 4 sides for long time to come.

I hope no one get offending by my comments above. If you disagree please convince me with solid reasons why?

A Thought Provoking Article: Swing towards Imran

Swing towards Imran

THE rallies have been staged. As expected, the PML-N, the party in power in Punjab which has been once again trying to sell itself as the alternative to the PPP at the centre, has exposed itself to some serious comparisons with Imran Khan by holding its show of strength so close to one by PTI.

Mr Khan had nothing to lose. In the event he has emerged from the rally considerably stronger. Whether he has paced his innings right remains to be seen. Faced with a dilemma, the PML-N may now want to prolong its rule in Punjab instead of going for an early showdown with the PPP. The PML-N needs time to consolidate its defences against this new, potent enough threat.

The expert analysts have so far remained too obsessed with an apparent lack of vote-winning candidates in the Imran camp, too obsessed perhaps with the old theories based on vote banks. Mr Khan needed a big show of strength where he was the only star attraction to remind the observers that the Pakistanis essentially vote for the top man or woman. It is doubtful whether even Shahbaz Sharif would be able to name all the Lahore MPAs who won in the 2008 election — as PML-N nominees, but actually because they were wearing the Sharif badge.

The numbers have been out to support Mr Khan, and in the heart of Punjab, aiding all those who must not presuppose. After the grand Imran rally at the Minar, the Sharifs, as well as the bystanders who go by the title of PPP politicians, need no further proof they have a worthy opponent to take care of.

There are a variety of factors contributing to the PTI rally on Sunday and to the growing unease in the Sharif camp, with a lame-duck PPP keeping away from political activity in the province at its own peril. A quick recap of some of these factors would be useful here.

1) As recent good politics goes, Mr Khan comes from the same camp as the Sharifs. The two parties won plenty of popular points with their support for the free judiciary. This gives their own battle in Punjab the colour of a factional fight, a much-awaited challenge from within the Sharifs have never faced before. The lesser-Muslim, lesser-Pakistani, non-Punjabi, anti-free judiciary tag doesn’t quite fit Mr Khan whose show at the Minar was typically dismissed by the PML-N as a song and dance party. A significant part of the pro-judiciary caravan, comprising students, professionals such as teachers, doctors etc who have had more than a few complaints against the Shahbaz Sharif government allies itself with Imran Khan; the students and the professionals were there in large numbers at the PTI rally on Sunday.

2) For now, the PTI chief’s support chiefly comes from the same urban areas of Punjab considered to be the Sharif stronghold which catapulted Nawaz Sharif to prominence as a national leader.

3) A few of the kingmakers who had once been so active on the Sharifs’ behalf have in recent times been spotted flanking Imran Khan. The Sharifs cannot be faulted for feeling wary of being tailed by him on the path they have themselves walked. Tellingly, Chaudhry Nisar’s statement the other day in which he said the army should not intervene confuses a lot of likely PML-N backers since it came only days after the top PML-N leadership vowed to try ‘all’ options to oust President Zardari. At the same time, there is this suspicion that some of their old backers who could mediate on their behalf have this cleaner patriotic option in Imran Khan.

4) Mr Khan has the potential to cash in on the widespread anti-America sentiment. The Sharifs were working on the assumption that the PPP, given its power needs, could never rival the safe PML-N play on this count. Shahbaz Sharif has been inclined to issue an anti-drone statement from time to time, his range rather limited since the PML-N with its own knowledge of the power game wouldn’t want to upset the Americans too much.

5) The PML-N is hopeful the ‘corruption’ and ‘blunders’ at the centre would hide its own shortcomings in Punjab. The fact is a visible anti-incumbency sentiment exists in Punjab. Denied the benefit it draws from a comparison with the PPP in Islamabad, the PML-N this time around has created quite a lot of ill will generally and in specific groups such as the bureaucracy, doctors, teachers, etc.

6) There is talk the PML-N leadership’s relationship with its senior members is far from how it once was. Bruised by the betrayal after the 1999 coup, this time the Sharifs have increased their dependence on the close family-friends circle around them. This has led to greater centralisation of command in Punjab, with the chief minister unwilling to share power through its delegation. This leads to grumbling within the PML-N legislators and conveys a negative message to the people in the constituencies who increasingly want to be represented.

7) Then there is the support of the media and ‘intelligentsia’ to Mr Khan. Even if the conspiracy theories that link his rise with the support of (parts of the) establishment are to be ignored, the media finds concentrated around him a variety of points that sell. His clean image sells, his less-inhibited anti-Americanism sells and so do his free-judiciary stance and his popularity among the trendsetting youth. Whereas it is accused of being urban-centric, the media has been instrumental in closing the much talked about but actually shrinking gap between the cities and villages. The PML-N has merrily ridden the new-wave media in its power dispute with the PPP and it surely doesn’t approve of the coverage given to Mr Khan. In the lead-up to the two rallies on Oct 28 and Oct 30, PML-N members visited the offices of television channels in Lahore. They complained of the TV channels’ bias for the PTI chief. Their fears must have been reinforced with the passionate media commentaries on the PTI rally on Oct 30, as opposed to the rather routine reporting of the PML-N rally a couple of days earlier.

These factors — and there are scores of others that make up the political discussion right now — combine to spell out the desire for change among large sections of the Pakistani people. There is this desire to break away from the past, and the violent tone adopted by Shahbaz Sharif at the Oct 28 rally was a bad advertisement for his kind of politics since it was interpreted by the wary and the tired as a sign of a continuation of the long-drawn duel with the PPP.

This desire for change found a manifestation in the presence of old PML-N and PPP workers at the Oct 30 rally. The PTI chief has the material to work with, and one way of doing it would be for him to right now shun any alliances that could suggest to his supporters that he is in any way perpetuating the very politics that he set out to end.

Don't treat yourself as "BAY USTADA" make a visit of whole pakistan, road to road and street to street and put your "MANSHOOR" to people draw their attention and watch the true picture and reality, sincerely, you might have not seen the rain of roughten eggs and tomato's and so on....dont lie with nation like others, first know the definition of "MOMIN" THEN YOU WILL FIND ALL ANSWERS YOURSELF.
wHAT IS "SISAT" complete lie and corruption.
Please be with "MILLIONS OF MAZLOOM" with sympathy and get their support with sympathy not by lie and false slogans.
Thanks

@ asif

By "OLD IS GOLD" you mean this Zardari and Nawaz are Gold. Why don't you shove this gold up your a$$. The nation is sick of these ba$tard$ who were brothers guarding each other just a few months ago. They are one and same.

We need a Leader. Imran Khan can very well be that Leader.

Dear asim people are frustrated and depressed. you must have noticed in the words Pakistani has used I apologies for the harsh words used but request you to understand the feeling of people those can not bear these two leader any more if you do not like Imran Khan some one else will pop in but these two parties have to go.

If people came out with out a leadership it will be a disaster and in current scenario Imran Khan is a blessing.

May Allah help you to understand a guide you better?

Dear CMY,
I have an old Bahria Town Islamabad 10-marla Phase9 file, I think 2 instalments paid. Is it too late to do anything with this file i.e. sell or exchange it? I live overseas, but will be in Lahore during the Eid period. Any advice would be helpful.
Thank you.
