Busy leaking information to embarrass Pakistan

M. A. Durrani was busy leaking information to embarrass Pakistan internationally. He was part of an influential group in Islamabad that worked overtime to ensure Pakistan accepted blame for Mumbai and initiated action against the military and ISI without verifying the so-called evidence. Mr. Durrani says his leaks had the blessings of President Zardari. Who are they working for? Alarmingly, Pakistan’s security stands breached at the highest levels in the capital, where shady individuals are working for foreign interests with impunity. It is time for a major purge to cleanse Pakistani government and politics of foreign assets. Mr. Durrani should be debriefed as to whose interests he was serving in his sensitive position.

The big question is " who has got guts to clean us of foreign assets ??""

limo replied on Friday, January 9, 2009 11:21 PM PST

It was Benazir who assured america to accommodate him once she becomes the prime minister.Zardari had to honour the commitment offcourse. But this is one example only. They make plenty of such commitments to attain power.

Hi replied on Saturday, January 10, 2009 04:15 AM PST

Zardari had no commitment of any sort with his wife, she was simply doubled crossed by US and dear husband.
There were reports from BB's iner circle that she wanted to divorce Zardari but some freinds told her to do it after elections.

AOA to all,
some say that the last call received by her(Mohtarma Benazir Bhutoo shaheed) was from her daughter, saying that," mama, papa saying, why do,nt u come out of your car. people are with with u, come out and wave your hand.
And....she did so!!!
By the way some say,
that when she heard the fire voice she immediately sat down and lowered her body into the car, then that critical time blast happen every thing was under clouds and then!......someone hit to her head and we lost her...............who was there inside the car with her at that time?
The one who was not acceptable for the enemies of Pakistan had left and rest , as per plan are now on the way to next projects as adivised by those powers(usa/indian behaviour is very meaningful in this regard).
Her mistake:
she was able to double cross USA/Musharraf but at Larkana adress she on the way admitted that she will not allow other power to interfere with Pakistan,s matters specially integrity of Pakistan!!!

India vows to end fraud as Satyam scandal shocks

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090108/ts_nm/us_satyam_17

Naveed Yaseen replied on Friday, January 9, 2009 11:24 AM PST

I think Indian software companies, including the biggest ones, are generally overrated by quality, productivity and discipline.

I often have to interact with software professionals hailing from Indian companies, including Satyam. In my opinion, like 4-5% of them are highly skilled and very talented indeed, like 15% of them are ok for their jobs, but there are also like 80% who are not appropriate for what they are doing (or pretending to do).

This later category usually enters by gross lies about their skills and experience, entrenches by friends/relatives support, and survives by ‘framing’ bosses and ‘riding’ peers and subordinates.

Guest007 replied on Friday, January 9, 2009 01:39 PM PST

100% agree with Naveed. On the other hand Pakistani specially in IT field are genius and sharp but lazy and don't kiss ... as much Indian do.

Salam replied on Friday, January 9, 2009 05:12 PM PST

Some of my colleagues are also Indians and my opinion is that they have below average intellect. Only reason behind their success is the enormous opportunities given to them by Europe, America and UN.
Other reason behind their success is that they live like mafia and with full support from their local embassies. In case of Pakistan when ever I
contact my embassy they try to cheat me.

I went for a simple course of three days together with people from all around the world and at the end in test only Indian failed but he was given second opportunity.

Khan. replied on Friday, January 9, 2009 09:43 PM PST

I have also worked, like Naveed mentioned some are super smart and rest are even below average BUT they care for each, they push each other. The biggest thing I figured is that they have humility unlike us. We are arrogant for no reason at all. We dont take care of each, we feel that other pakistanis are threat to us etc. etc.

arsu replied on Saturday, January 10, 2009 01:53 AM PST

Revenues of the 6 top most companies, (which are though a fraction of total industry, as rightly indicated by Naveed) account for over 40% of the overall industry. US continues to remain the key market for Indian IT companies, accounting for almost 70 % of the total IT exports from India. Wage inflation, slowdown in US economy, and competition from other low cost countries like China, Philipines and Vietnam are the main challenges faced by Indian IT industry today and are very likely to deter the industry in future.
Salam, its their high skills and professionalism that makes way for them in the international market, not that they succeed because they are given more opportunities.

Hamid, Toronto replied on Saturday, January 10, 2009 02:11 PM PST

Here is my 2 cents:

Indian:
- Indians have thick English accent and poor English. Most of them cannot pronounce zero (yero).
- Average intelligence power. You cannot find out MBA graduate for management post. In IT industry, most of them have passed high school with some diploma course.
- Consistence Govt. policy
- Full Govt. support
- Good country image
- Equal opportunities for Men/Women
- Making 60 Billion from IT industry.
- Good IT infrastructure
- 45 million internet users

Pakistanis:
- Light English accent and good English command
- Good intelligent brain power
- Non consistence Govt. policy
- No Govt. support
- Bad country image. Nobody wants to invest big money.
- There is very high ratio in job harassment for women at work place.
- Generating 1 Billion revenue from IT industry.
- Average IT infrastructure
- 4 to 5 million internet users

I believe we can make at least 10 billion from IT industry with little more efforts. There is a huge scope for IT call centers in Pakistan. As per PASHA we are getting left over or dead project from international market due to bad image of country.

Note: Lately NADRA was included in TOP 50 best organization using modern IT techniques.

Good News! DHA-2 Ext started picking up!

DHA Islamabad had seen its bottom and now started picking up.
Certificates of DHA-2 Extension are now selling at Rs. 12,00,000.
It seems Dubai property crash is diverting the investors to Pakistan now.
One can also see higher buying in Islamabad sectors; especially G-11 and G-13 plots are in much demand now

Do not show your muscles here; simply fetch a file for me!
Also get me 30*60 in G-11 new allotments, at one month prior price, if you are wise enough to keep yourself in touch with the property cycles, you MUST be knowing one month prior price in G-11!

We cannot take the graves of our fore fathers outside Pakistan. I am also not much hopeful about the future but then, it is made in the name of Allah and it will survive in HIS NAME only, Inshallah.
Dear Mr. Learnt,

Investment does not see the corners, it only looks for the outcome out of the money, which was put into?

I will wait for Rana's lovely message and if He knoes what He is talking about, I will book my seat the next day, to Pakistan!

DHA Situation (My view)

Everyone is giving there opinion I thought I should too :). The reason for all this is mainly and defiantly the tension between Bharat and Pakistan. I have done research for the past few days and have found out that nearly all of the societies from Thokar all the way to NFC 2 are going stable, sure when you call for a plot or want to sell the market is cold but no one is selling in a panic and due to this the rates if not going up in some cases are stable.

In DHA especially the undelivered Phases and the files I think the main reason is lack of confidence in DHA Lahore. I think people have had enough, 1) The ballot of phase 8 should have been conducted a year ago plus there are many more army quota files coming into the market which have helped to cripple the market. 2) Phase 7 dose not seem to have any future, there are many large unattained pockets in half of phase 7 and it is very near the border. People are now thinking, what is the point in investing in such a phase where they are the victims of big investors every year. For the past 3 years the cycle of phase 7 has been repeating itself. At this time the rates have gone below the post ballot period. People are thinking why they should invest in such a society where they are being given a roller costar ride, Up and Down every time.

The most important reason I think is that, DHA is next to the border. I mean it is a laughable concept that the provincial capitals most prestigious Housing Estate and Airport are located next to our most hated enemy. ALLAH forbids anything happens (War) the Airport & DHA will be the first targets for Bharat.

I think a few dealers and big players are trying to save what ever’s left of the DHA market. I mean look at Phase 6 I am shocked that its most expensive has come down to 67 lacs where as it went to 90lac. Confidence in small investors only comes when they know that if there investment grows it will stay on the reached platform.

Jameel replied on Friday, January 9, 2009 05:43 AM PST

If there is real war this will lose even more, but Dont forget there have been Housing Projects even after BRB, Batapur is after BRB, Drs Society on canal and many projects near Jallo are also near to BRB, If we argue of worsening geopolitical situation, there is no end. Even 2nd world war generation cannons have 30Km range.
If there will no real war then this worsening of Price and real estae situation will quickly reverse rather it may over shoot. But if there will be real war in these sectors then impact might be long lasting. So an interesting situation has been created by over all moral and many people will get benefit and others will lose.

Salam replied on Friday, January 9, 2009 05:18 PM PST

IMO, DHA
prices will pickup once it is connected by expressway to Multan road via Ferozepur road and Raiwind road!
DHA and all concerned societies should think seriously in this direction and request President of Pakistan to start few mega projects in Lahore.

Dubai likely to tighten property market regulations
Thursday, January 08, 2009
With several developers withdrawing their projects in wake of global financial meltdown, Dubai is considering tightening rules on property market, say recent reports.

As per a report in The National, the real estate authorities are likely to issue new regulations to help avoid delays and cancellations that have shattered the once-buoyant sector.

Once the new regulation is passed, buyers may be required to pay 30 percent of property price to the developer as a deposit, and the rest 70 percent payment could be made in installments, based on the stages of development.

Developers too, will not be permitted to begin selling units in a property, until 20 percent of the planned project has been completed, as this would ensure that only the most feasible projects proceeds further, revealed Lisa Dale, the Head of Property Department, Al Tamimi Law firm.

Being a member of the seven-strong UAE Federation, Dubai welcomed foreign investors into its property sector in 2002, which triggered the real estate boom through windfall revenues generated from oil prices that touched an all-time high in July 2008. The ever-growing population and investor speculation in the emirate further contributed to surge in property prices.

However, the, international financial crisis and resulting credit crunch has cut down the ability of few developers to complete projects, and this coupled with limited access to loans by buyers’, has resulted in property market slowdown.

Foreign real estate projects in Pakistan feel the heat of the UAE market downfall

Thursday, January 08, 2009
By Faryal Najeeb

KARACHI: The super-luxurious residential and commercial projects that had been initiated by foreign developers of United Arab Emirates (UAE) are rumored to be under a cloud as the construction work on some such projects had to be rescheduled following the impact on the real estate crises in the region. But the Gulf builders contend that everything is on track and their project will proceed as per plan.

While the local real estate market is booming with the popularity of small housing projects initiated by local developers, investors in projects by property giants like Emaar Pakistan Pvt Ltd and Al Ghurair Giga Pakistan Pvt Ltd are worried about the status of their investments in both Islamabad and Karachi.

One investor, requesting to remain anonymous shared that he had repeatedly visited the project site, only to see “barren land with a lot of machinery and work force carrying out tasks at a snail’s pace. I have repeatedly inquired on the status of the venture and I am always assured that it would be completed on time. But I fail to understand how they would manage when my eyes tell me otherwise,” he expressed.

On the other hand, an insider of the real estate industry informed that the UAE market is predicted to slump further and this will impact local projects taken up by these Gulf-based giants. He said “more projects would be cancelled and abandoned in the months to come and these are directly going to affect the projects in Pakistan too.”

Referring to the UAE market, the source further stated that Emaar requires billions of Dirhams to complete their existing projects which they had planned to borrow from Abu Dhabi who have in turn asked for shares in the Emaar projects instead.

“Similarly, other big developers such as Nakheel, Damac and Ruwad have laid off staff in massive numbers while shares of the real estate sector of UAE have plunged from as high as Dhs11 per share to a mere Dhs3 per share,” he informed.

“The UAE developers that are here have been rumored to be planning to also lay off people or worse abandon projects and flee with the investors’ money” he continued. “The best bet in these times is caution, as the market is highly speculative right now.”

When The News contacted Chief Executive Officer of Emaar Pakistan, Dr Dia Malaeb, he denied any such news and said that they continue to believe in the Pakistani real estate market’s potential as the global financial meltdown had not affected this country as severely as the UAE market. He said that the projects that had already been launched would go ahead as planned and Emaar Pakistan would ensure that they are delivered to their investors on time and according to their agenda.

Malaeb informed that their project Canyon Views in Islamabad is all set to be handed over to its investors in a few months’ time, whereas the work on The Highlands, also in Islamabad and Crescent Bay in Karachi continues to be completed as per the schedule.

However, the CEO did say that their sales were affected slightly and some new projects that they had been planning to introduce in Pakistan in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad have been put on hold for the time being.

Malaeb expressed that these new projects may now be launched by the 2nd quarter of this year and have in no way been abandoned. “We are studying the market for our other projects and would launch them when the time is right,” he said.

Al Ghurair Giga Pakistan Pvt Ltd, on the other hand, when contacted, commented that they were an independent private limited company and therefore they were not answerable to their parent company in the UAE, and hence, did not have to follow any orders from them either.

They said that some rescheduling had been done as they had indeed been affected by the Gulf situation. However, they said that they were in no way abandoning their projects as they were “in earnest” over their projects in Pakistan.

The representative of Al Ghurair Giga further stated that since they had been officially granted the license for the World Trade Center to be constructed in Islamabad, they “had to deliver as there was much at stake.”

“Adjustments are made according to the economic situation, be it increasing prices or the global recession but we take everything in our stride optimistically. In fact, we actually benefited from the real estate recession in the UAE as local investors came back into the country and invested in our local ventures and therefore we gained more than we lost,” the representative said.

Muhaq-qiq replied on Friday, January 9, 2009 07:13 PM PST

AOA to all,
Its all fine but the last two weeks in UAE have shown the strong commitment from Abu Dhabi based government that there would not be a such slump as predicted.
In fact one can see that the all above mentioned real estate developers have laid off only those(till now it is only 5%)staff who infact were hired for the field representation or u can say that marketing purpose only, the rest of the staff is remain there.
There is no doubt that "things" should be Re-assessed, readjusted and following to that also rescheduled. All the major projects are now on the way to rescheduled carefully with out creating the panic among investors and developers.
Policy makers are reviewing the matters at every level and very soon a strong policy will be produced to help eliminating the growing panic.
Whereas on the banking sector in the UAE the situation is also the same like the real-estate sector(in respect to the staff abandonment), but it seems that banks in UAE are more stronger than real-estate sector, so one can say that after a short dip it will bounce back and there will be strong push from banks for the real-estate market.
Infact the focal point here in between Pakistan and UAE is the governments not the private sectors, means if the produced policy is solid enough to grip over spreading panic(created by the European and us based investors)then its a only few months matter to be handled with, whereas we can see there is no such attempt from Islamabad except the DHA who are selling the land in rush with out proper planning and thus losing buyer confidence and market value.
Best Regards.
