Moving to pakistan

Dear brothers, apologize for unrelated question, I am planning to move back to Pakistan and my child 11 years old cannot speak or read Urdu, but can understand well. I have heard that Urdu is now compulsory in all schools. What are the options for me, which school and what about Urdu, I will live in Lahore. Urdu, Islamic Studies and Pakistan Studies are compulsory subjects in all schools in Pakistan, even if your child follows IGCSE, i.e. O levels.

Dear Mr. Farooq...I am teaching IGCSE...Urdu, Islamiyat and Pakistan Studies are exempt for students who carry a foreign passport (nationality)....for grades lower than O levels, students can be offered easy urdu (if they wish to) and may also have the option of being exempt from studying Urdu...best of luck...

Check wid choueifat school Lahore. But if your son can read Quran then he can learn how to read or write Urdu very quickly.

I would just request all foreign parent to please speak Urdu with their children since their childhood at home. Children automatically pickup English when they go to school.

Do not try to teach your children Kathi Angrazi as they will learn a proper English by themselves in School. Children can only learn and speak their mother tong properly if mother speak since their childhood. However, if child has grownup and are trying to teach Urdu, he will only speak Kati Urdu!!

Asalam o alaikum,

I was born in dubai, my parents speak punjabi but with us they spoke urdu, when I came to pakistan at age of 18. It was speaking broken punjabi in lahore, but back in dubai I got a friend who replied to me in punjabi even when i speak in urdu, he was brought up in lahore. I got very fluent in punjabi with in few months. Now My middle daughter in dubai also started speaking English and does not speak urdu, her sisters speak urdu, and i visit regularly lahore also i try to make her speak in urdu she is picking up. I believe mother tounge is in DNA, little boost is only required.we should not devalue our language and culture where ever we live.

LGS is a good school, go for it and they follow the American way to teaching, unlike our conventional way.

My dear ihave experienced my kids r foreign. National .if u have foreign. Passports u can get waver from Urdu from board. Of intermediate in matric as well as in fsc. The board will offer u geography in matric and Pak culture in fsc in liue of Urdu.

Hello All, I like to know the expert opinion regarding this.Few years back bahria moved my plot from gulmahar sector c lahore to bharia orchard central district where price for 10 marla is around 45 lakh while in gulmahar 10 marla is around 80 lakh. I was fighting with Bahria regarding this since last three years. Now they have offered me a plot in bahria overseas ph 2, plot is between 907-916. I like to know what's price on this bahria overseas phase 2(lahore) and should i switch it.Is ring road is coming close to this part of bahria or not.

It was file but all 10 payments were paid and on papers. In 2009 they send me an email stating that due to technical reasons your plot is in underdeveloped area and is not likely to be developed so Bahria has decided to move your plot to Bahria Orchard but in 2011 they announced sector D on same location and sold all those plots in open market.

I like to know if location plot (ph 2 overseas,907-916) is good and what's current market value. Should I switch it or ask for more options. They don't have anything available in Gulmahar or Janiper.
