AoA. I am looking to purchase a plot in Lahore. Preferred location is Multan Road. Key requirement is (i) should be able to construct my house asap (ii) should be safe area (iii) must have reputable schools. EME Ph-1 seems to be the best option as advised by someof my friedns. However, I can only spend upto 55lacs, hence I am open to size (bigger the better). Can anyone advise on:
1. Available plots in EME Ph-1 within this price range.
2. Alternative options that meet the requirement.

If u want to live 100% safe and secure society with no load shedding then go for Bahria Town.This is only society which has these features.

As an Overseas Visitor I saw EME on Sunday, was Thoroughly Impressed, I decided to revisit the same area next day on 1.30 PM , I was thorughly disappointed to see the Jam of Traffic at exit of EME, I had to wait Full One Hour to Cover Only 1/2 KM distance, as Per some Local it is daily Routine. Please Consider all aspects before you decide to Invest there, I Think Canal Road after Thokar will not be sufficient for all the nice Hosing societies wee see, Most are still Unpopulated, In Future the resident definitely Commute By cars, The Moment these societies are Packed, You may have to go Hours before You will reach that area.
I Hope someone already living there can share how they are Coping

Habib..I never thought traffic would be an issue if the road infront of EME etc was used (not Multan road) and some other paths availed (I must say I am not an expert on Lahore geography).....what's your recommendation?

Multan Road and Canal road run in Parallel, there are 3 Points where these are Connected
1 In Front of EME
2 In Front of Green Fort
3 At Nallah Near Bahria
4 NFC 2 Main Boulevard

Point 1 is already very busy in rush Hours, Point 3 will be Increasing busy after Bahria gets More Populated, Point 3 will also saturate after Population. I will suggest have A look at school Hours especially at noon before you decide to live there for Life.
Mutaln Road is Not Good for common Commuters due to Heavy Traffic, Canal road will be very Busy in Near Future, It needs 3 Over head on these 1,2,3 Points

NFC Lahore Phase 2 Development Update August 2, 2012

We will try to upload the latest development pictures in next few weeks.

Currently the Main Boulevard & all Main Roads (80 Ft, 100 Ft, and 150 Ft), bridge on Lahore Canal, water tank, and the commercial area between Lahore Canal and Multan road is completely developed. Possession of commercial plots was given last year. Construction is going on in commercial area. Possession of residential plots on main roads is expected within next 12 months. The development work on remaining residential plots is expected to take about two years. Society has all the land in possession, and it is big chunk of land (not scattered in pockets here and there) so the development can go on at a smooth pace.

More recent development in NFC Phase 2 can be seen in Google Satellite Images (or Google Earth) at following link (Notice the Barhia Town Sector F under rapid development at the end of NFC 2 150 Ft Main Boulevard which will give direct access of Multan Road to Bahria Town). I m going to hajj first time and i m afraid about Jumarat . Kankarian marny wala part. I have heard there is stampede everytime, can members tell me which time is better to throw kankarian and any tip about it etc.

Waqar ,u shouldn't worry whatsoever about any thing there.All would be well organized.They have Saudi Army units deployed there at Jammarat to avoid stampede.
More assuring is to remember that u are truly guests of Allah O akbar there.He will facilitate u there all through the Hajj.Just remember my words.U R GUEST OF ALLAH>

dear bro, jamarat have become very easy due to new construction and layout & now u can stone shaitan any time u feel like. only for the last day u need to be careful and avoid rush timings.

Jamarat is very easy to perform because of multiple floors. Hajj can be very enjoyable as long as you are in good health/physically fit and have patience.

1. I am living in Saudi Arabia.
2. This year Hajj is going to be the easiest;
- because Saudi Government is allowing only 50% of internal people to perform Hajj
- About 30-40 % of external Hujjaj are also less
- Regarding Jamrat; it is very big structure and multistoreyed as well. It was contructed keeping in view the past such incidents.

Do remeber me in your prayer. Last but not the least concentrate on your prayers; because even when there were difficulties

I may be wrong but last stempede i remember was about 10 years back. After that it has been developed quite well. When i went i was guided that never go on the ground floor level that was worth it. Dont worryand go upper floors.

As a suggestion do Jumrat in the evening like other citizens of GCC. it will be alot easier. as i performed my 2nd n 3rd Hajj like this.

One more tip, when you approach the jumrat donot rush for thropwing the stones rather move forward towards the end of jamrah, there will be very less people and you can easily perform the task. Most of the people when they approach near the jamrat they rush for trowing the stones and rush at the start to half og jamrah wall is much.

By the grace of God i m 30 years old and can walk for 5-7 KM without trouble. But i feel that people will b neck to neck like during Tawaf in last ashra of ramadan.

One of my friend has done life insurance of 20 lacs with state life for 20 years. He has to pay one lac yearly and has already paid four instalments so far. Now he wants to withdraw from this insurance and wants his money back. Which is the way he can terminate his insurance policy with state life and get his paid money back. Please suggest

If he got the insurance in US$ he can contact statelife dubai office or his agent who can help. if he purchased from Pakistan then any area office can help. he may get almost same amount that he paid in 4 years or a little less as cost of coverage is deducted.

It depends, most probably at 4 yearns of payments their would not be any surrender value, until 10 years of the payments you will get your payments and bonus back

Dear Saleem, he has to fill in a cancelation form, the policy will be cancelled, it will take a few weeks but he will get his money back. However, the way insurance works is that if he withdraws before 7 years, he will lose a chunk of his money. I am not sure what IRR statelife uses, but he may get half of his money back. It is a rather simple procedure and he has to contact the company.

if he get something back from state life he should be thankful to them for the rest of his life.

These people are there to defraud people of their money. A guy from state life (Riffat) in abu dhabi, told me that i will be getting my installment and profit whenever i surrender after first year. I asked him repeatedly about it and he repeatedly lied to me.

When after two years i tried to get my money back and profit, i got only 30% of my money back. this is what state life does to pakistanis.

BTW that guy is not promoted in state life due to his dishonesty to clients.

@ UAE haha promotion!! he should have been fired. they work for hafty commissions not promotions. One guy also looted me the same way he dposited my installments chq to some other client. After some people came to know including me he ran away from the country. State life said bring the evidence if you have. Lol. cheeters. But to be honest for the above issue i am sure penelty issue is mentioned in the policy.
