U405 is a good location to make a house. You should be able to start a house here in 3 to 4 years at max. No need for making switch. Plot might be deep so you may have to make a basement here.

HSBC is the best, safest and provides full market rate. I am sure Citibank is the same, but I never tried. I always use HSBC. Don't use Pak banks. They are safe as well but they always give less exchange rate.

Hmmm. I have two HSBC accounts. One in USA and the other in Islamabad. When transferring I do not encounter any additional charge. You can however call your receiving bank and I am almost 100% sure the receiving bank (e.g Habib bank etc) won't charge any. For them it is just a credit amount to an existing account. The charge is for the sending money from the source account.

I have also sent money via Pakistan bank in USA (e.g UBL) in the past and they don't charge any wire transfer fee, but their excahneg rate is 1 to 2 ruppee less than market rate, which for $50K translates to 50K ot 1 lak ruppees (much higher than $30 fee I pay)

If you have to send money periodically and for the future, I advice to open two account, as I did. I can wire the money online from my US account to my Pak account. I can then pay money to anyone in Pakistan via cashier check delivered to anyone at home (fees 200-300 ruppee per transaction). HSBC is extremely secure. They always call you in US to confirm each transaction. Their online is also secured through dual signon authentication (sorry IT terms) :-)

Better not to invest in private schemes not even in Bahria Towns.The development of their schemes is extremely slow although their advertisements are very very fascinating and charming.

Investment in Wapda Towns is the best investment in every respect.
If you invest 50 lac in any Wapda Town and after some period you wish to withdraw your invested amount ,they never deduct a single penny from your invested amount.

But if you invest same amount in Bahria Towns or other schemes like bahria you will never get same amount back. They will deduct round about 5.0 lacs and return you 45 lacs.See the difference.Instead of giving you profit on investment they deduct your actual amount.

I have been investing in Bahria town for last two years(up to date) and never ever experienced(or heard from someone) what you mentioned here. Alhamdulillah my investment has always been very safe & sound and whenever I have withdrawn my money, I got the profit.

It seems like you have some personal anger against Bahria town :) If that was the case for investing in Bahria town, then brother CMY would have never advised Bahria town to his visitors in this forum.

I would like to ask CMY to give his wise input in this regard. False speculations can really confuse the investors, specially the overseas investors!

I own both residential & commercial plots both in Bahria Lahore & Bahria Rawalpindi. I feel that there is nothing wrong in investing in Bahria Town Projects over all but yes you should analyse & decide in which of the projects you should invest.

i m doing this business and can assure anybody of good business provided person knows basics of business and remember it is full time job, no part timers otherwise not easy.. but if u learnt it u can earn as much as you want..some bigger units on Raiwind road are earning from 10 lakh to 50 lakh a month in this business easily...some of the famous Names are " Bareeze, Motifs, Frilz, Threads n motifs" u can see all of them on MM alam road lahore.. but they are doing it on elite level. i m suggesting to start from Azam Cloth Market, u can earn 70k to 150k by initial investment of 18 lakh, and once u liked it, u can add more machine and every next machine increase profit as fixed expenses are shared on each machine..... Halal Profit is main thing.... Investing in Banks even in islamic is not halal for me atleast.

There is example in Pakistan where a man started his business from making envelopes with honesty and ended up having a paper mill. Now He is a billionaire. I can send the specific details of the person, if asked for?

I think Honesty IS the opportunity, especially in Pakistan and more precisely in now a days!

Only and only greed plays the most part in bringing down any business. We want to make millions soon after we just start getting going and gain some confidence that we can do it.
Then quality the first thing which goes down then comes the quantity as well.

Here in gulf where I work, one man from Faisal Abad, took the contract from the states run oil company.
The contract was for 10,000 employees cover alls for 03 years!
He supplied first lot of vey good garments, next delivery coveralls start shrinking then size problem came. He was banned after 9 months from supplying coveralls. He is still proud that He has done a good business and earned good money! Think if He would have maintained the quality then a full contract of 3 years would have definitely elevated his reputations and money and He could have gone for other company’s tenders in the gulf, having strong credentials of the first business?

Yes in Pakistan the business people do the hard work but the hard work for cheating!

Now it is very easy to feel the difference between an “opportunity” and “Honesty”

That you can check with them. I have no idea. There are some money exchangers who can provide you cash at your location. In your case, they may come to your bank and provide you cash there. This is another safe way. Get cash in bank and deposit same time in the bank.

If you purchase a file in Phase 9/10 the allocation letter that you get from DHA after the transfer mentions that you will get a plot in Phase 9.

Previously, they used to mention Phase 9/10.
