Dear Brother Abdulla, thank you for the short cut to youtube, I was not aware of that, I hope that too is not haram :-). By the way, in the time of the Prophet (PBUH), there were no banks, so he could not possibly advise about banking and financial matters. As I said in my earlier statement, I am the head of business development in an Islamic financial institution, I dont need to listen to youtube videos, I do this every day for a living. Let me tell you brother, reading is so much better than listening, it opens up your mind to questions. Unless you ask questions, you can never know the answers. The interest system is not based on the same principles as Riba during and before the time of the Prophet, that system still exists in India in some parts, but that is entirely different from the interest based banking system. If you lease a car from an Islamic bank, they will buy it first and then sell it to you on profit which you have to pay during a fixed term. Tell me, how is it different from a commercial bank's lease, it is not, only difference is the language, it is just a farce created to attract money from people who have been told by the Mulla that banking interest is haram. The problem with our generation is that we have facebook and youtube. So we prefer to listen than research ourselves, because it is so much easier. |
