Just a some additions and my view of standards of these schools.

Lahore Grammar School (LGS) Ph 1 is only for girls.
LGS Ph V is both for Girls and boys. They have a very nice campus but I have found from personal experience that they are not doing a very good job especially at Pre-School level.
Beaconhouse Ph3 (next to McDonalds) is good standard school.
Beaconhouse Newlands in PhVI is opening this year and is a joint collaboration between Beaconhouse and a British school (should be good)
The best one for Pre school children I have found is Kids Kampus belonging to the Salamat School Systems (ICAS etc.)
Salamat School Systems is opening a huge campus on Bedian Road in PhV next to Askari 11 called SICAS and based on their reputation it should be very good.
I cannot comment on Defence Public Schools as I have no experience of them.
There is also a new school which opened in XX block called The Brick School but I dont know much about it.
Ibn-E-Sina also next to McDonalds in Y block is also known for it's very strict discipline.

The fees for most of these private schools vary around 12-15k per month.

SL is Under NAB and anticorruption investigation. Till its finalisation, there is a great risk that the rates would decrease and would remain at that stage. However, if the report is clean, then may be teh rates would raise. This is a very long term investment i.e. for 10-15 years min.

i think big monopholy is going on sl2, now a days i think dha will takeover the sl2 for 9,10 even they offer new plots approximately on the same rate of SL2, its my personnel thinking , and the most of the member of SL2 are sleeping only needy persons person are going to sale his files /plot. but investor are keep watching the market.

if we want our money back , so we are not wakeup and come under the one roof and talk with the SL2 management. basically we are stupid that why management are not wake up.

but please dont sale the plots, very soon you will hear a good news sl2 will merge in DHA :)
its my personnel thinking.

My house was built by Younas Bhai in G-13 on 35x70 plot. It includes basement, gound, 1st floor and one 'mumty' room. Top class consutction, completed within around one year. Rate was around Rs 1600 (plu/minus). I paid him one million in advance and then kept paying during the course of construcion. He arranged everything for me e.g. map, approvals, connections etc etc. House was rented out after completion to two tenants. Younas Bhai is also acting on my behalf in collection of rent and other matters etc as I am living abroad. For more details, please feel free to write on

this website has more information than you can find elsewhere. For example, for any society such as DHA or Bahria, u can find more info and pictures on this site than all other sites combined including their official websites.

Here they have some construction and building material info but not as much as you demand but still more than other sites

Please donot look honest or not honest Do proper contract with all and clear detal and quility of metarial as per the rate. keep som one from your family to keep checking the metarial and quility during construction. I am in favour to give contract with metarial because un experiance people purchasing metarial 50% more than actual price.Good construction could be done Rs1400 to 1600 per sq/foot.
It is not easy to say who is honest or not honest both parties should go according to deal and contract.

i agree 110% with overseas help line. you have to evaluate, suspect all contractors unless they are proven innocent and even after u make decision you have to keep checking. You can even install a mixture of real and fake web cameras on site to view and give impression that they are being watched

Assalamu Alikum Mr CMY!

We were planning to buy a file of 1 kanal plot in phase 5 ext....but now are confused regarding its Land issue. Its Land has been sold to ASkari .....What about its new land? There are some rumors that DHA will merge it in Phase 9 OR will buy some new land...

Another thing is that what are the factors which influence the price of Files...like in the case of Phase 5 Ext people know the Land issue and still the File price is rising day by day.... The main attractive thing about it was the worth of its previous Land , but now if the Land is going to be changed than which thing is still positive in it that is increasing the price of its file ....

DHA 5 extension files are issued against land that is located in DHA 5 extension area. If one file of one kanal DHA takes 4 kanal land. They must have EXTRA land so they may be giving it to Askari etc. Only DHA knows when they will ballot or where they will give you plot. But till today a file owner got plot only in area of phase where land was handed to DHA. What DHA will do tomorrow I dont know. If you are not comfortable with land or location please buy a plot in proper DHA 5 at 70 to 145 lacs per kanal. Or buy a plot in already balloted other phases.

I think its worth and ok to invest in NFC 2 if you have very low budget.

Yesterday i had called Adeel at ur advertised number, he still has to come up with 10 Marla and 1 kanal options. The point here which is in favor of me is that the cost of land is okay but rest of the amount will be taken on installments (Development charges) which is quite feasible for me.
Do u suggest any other more developed society with little Plus budget.

I found a lot of good information on this forum, but i still have few questions as it appears to be a complicated topic:
1. I have one house where my parents live.
2. I have three fully paid plots. Decide to build on one of them but not sure which one yet. Most likely to sell one and build. Another option, leave both for children shadi/education.

how zakat will work out? Also what if i dont have a job or i retire or i dont have enough savings to pay zakat? should i start selling plots in order to pay zakat?
another question, my parents dont have any income except 16,000 rupees/mo pension. I support them, is that considered as zakat or no? Let me know please.

Anything extra after meeting your present needs is liable for Zakat.

1. Where do you live, if you are living in the same house where your parents live then all three plots are Zakatable

2. Your Zakat will not be applied to your parents as it is your duty to support them like your children (as said by Mr. Baba)

Pay Zakat not as TAX but as Qarz to Allah Taala as Allah Talla will not keep the Qarz and will return you the money as much as 700 times Insha Allah and will purify your remaining money.

Also all your savings (Currency, Gold etc) are all Zakatable if they exceed the Nisab of Zakat

As per my limited knowledge, the answers are given for each question.

1. Where your parents live, no zakat is payable. If they are paying you rent, zakat is deduible on whatever remains from that rental income after expenses.

2. From your three plots, if you have decided to build on one, its not zakat-deductable as its no more an investment property. If you decide to sell another and use its money for home, and your intention is 100% now, there wont be zakat on that either. The third one is zakat liable, as its investment money and will remain so.
If you change your mind about these plots, zakat is applicable on each.

3. For the plot on installments, I have limited knowledge and would like others to guide.

4. Money for Parents cannot be part of Zakat.

People may agree or disagree with what I am going to put below for further food for thought.

I have come across people in Saudia who Pay zakat only on items that are going to bring them profit, and not on items gifted to their family and are for personal use only, and that included wedding jewellery for your wife. Their arguement is: "Zakat is only deductible on "Investment Money" which gives you a return, and not on anything else."

If you intend to keep it with intention that you may sell it, its liable for zakat, but if you have given it to wife and she has no intention to sell and will keep for personal use for rest of life, its not liable for zakat.Many people on this forum will disagree to this point but please suggest what do you think is best. Also, if you have a plot and you name it for a minor and do not take anything of it till he is adult, you have no zakat to pay on it, but that also means that you are not going to take any part of it at all under your use.

Again, regaring the question of selling the plot to pay zakat, ask yourself if it makes sense to do it. I will give a real life example: A widow has 100 tola gold and she cannot do any business or work, i.e, she has not "INVESTED" it any where, she merely uses 1 tola every month for her expenses. Now, because she has not invested and does not expect a return, she should not be paying zakat, its for personal use. This gets complex when people start arguing that Gold prices increase, but its not just gold people posses, woman can posses Rupees or Dollars or anything which can decrease or increase.

Another quesion: If two people A and B are having a plot each, A buys keep it for building home only and not sell at a higher price, B buys to sell it later on a higher price, are they the same? Ofcourse not, one is expecting profit and treating it as trade commodity while other is not, so A is not liable for zakat on his plot but ofcourse, he can't reap the benefits of selling it at a higher price. If the person A built the house and lived in for 10 years, and then decides to sell it, the zakat will be applicable on the income generated.

Great news for at leat 2 reasons!

This government has to do something good before they are put on the way out and that is not too far from now. Even if they complete their legitimate tenure, they need to do at least one thing like that!
CDA has to make its impression & repu better as it has lost its entire positive image due to DHA & BT. CDA used to get billions upon the announcement of new sectors but now they get only shoes thrown on them instead!

Now DHAI & BT are damn and CDA must make a fun of it?
