BADIN: An unemployed person stated to be father of six daughters attempted to commit suicide through self immolation on the eve of International Labour Day but survived with severe burn wounds.

According to details, Abdul Razzaq Ansari, 45, an unemployed labourer of Badin, during a rally taken out to mark the Labourers Day in Ward No 4 here on Tuesday set ablaze him due to financial crunch and domestic disputes.

Other attendants of the rally put off the fire and shifted him to hospital where according to hospital sources his condition was serious.

Abdul Razzaq has six daughters and was unemployed for last four months due to which he was facing problems to feed his six daughters and it led to the extreme act.

Dear All,
i have recently bought a 1 kanal plot in LDA avenue 1. I dont have a set plan as to build a house over there (as i already own a house) or sell it after 5 or 6 years. I need to know if zakat is payable on this plot. I have checked various websites at some places they say zakat is not applicable as it is not agri land and some places they say it is applicable.
I will appreciate if any knowledgeable brother give his advice.

LRE PRICE : Central Park Lahore Residential Plots Available (Ready For Construction)... 10M = 6.50 to 14.00, 1K = 13.50 To 25

Can anyone please advise and give sincere suggestion if Central park Lahore is safe and good investment for kids / next generation who will be at marriage stage in 15 years? I know my father did same for us brothers and now its time for me to do for my sons although they are too young at this stage.

My priorities are to buy plots at safest and secure living standard at the minimum price and leave these plots for atleast 10 to 15 years for sons and when they reach their wedding stage, they can either build their home or sell it if they want.

Currently, I don't think DHA Phase 7, 8 or 9 are in reach of ordinary person like me so would prefer middle class investment like this in Central Park especially when there is no hope in DHA when there will be possession of these in newly balloted in Ph 7, 8 or file of Ph 9 and even if I/we think to buy it now at this stage, current value in DHA is over-priced regardless its physical plot (completely out of reach) or file in these phases

I have few queries about Central Park Property and would highly appreciate your suggestion/advices:

- 1 Kanal plot starts from 13.50 Lac what is price of good location plot in Central Park

- Is it safe and developed place for future after 10 to 15 years

- Is it good investment for them (kids) to buy at this price then any other secure property place available in Lahore

- Is there any map for central park (I can't find any map on either Central park or LRE webite as web link doesn't work) so I can see the plots number in different blocks about their price / location

- Are there any Panelty charges if you don't build house in Central Park for another 10 to 15 years like DHA are charging far too high for not buiding a house?

- Is there any Patwari culture involved to buy plots in Central Park as I hate it dealing as sometimes they sell one property to multiple people: What is best way to check if plot has not been sold to more than one person. Patwari job starts on the basis of bribe which he gave to get this Patwari job.

Another point about DHA is if they do not waive off the Annual Panelty charges for not buiding house on Plot in any phase, then there is no point for an investor to invest in DHA and I don't think there are many people (not more than 20%) who invest/buy DHA property for building house for them.

DHA is like IMF (Internaltion Monitory Fund ) searching every single corner / chance to grab money on top of actual plot/file e.g. Membership fee, Panelty Charges, High Development charges etc. etc. etc.

I know, it not someone responsibility to answer my queries but would really really appreciate if you comment.

Unfair increase in Non-Construction Penalty by DHA,Lahore

I refer to advertisement dated 29/4/2012 published in The News whereby DHA ,Lahore has yet again unfairly increased Non-Construction Penalty. The reason given by DHA for the increase is that it has to spend millions of Rupees on maintenance and cleanliness of vacant plots.This is exaggeration. The increased yearly penalty for Non- Construction of 8 Marla plot is Rs. 200,000. I am sure the owner can make arrangement for cleanliness of his vacant plot in much less cost than Rs. 200,000 per annum. It is not clear what maintenance cost DHA is incurring on vacant plots. I am an overseas Pakistani who worked abroad many years and own a plot in DHA, Lahore. I do not have enough funds to build a house on my vacant plot.There are thousands overseas Pakistani like me who invested hard earned foreign exchange in DHA. Similarly there are thousands resident Pakistani who invested their hard earned money and own vacant plots in DHA, Lahore.They must have genuine reasons for not constructing house on their plots . Therefore, I request DHA Management to withdraw this unjustified increase of Non- Construction Penalty.

Every one is warned few smart & big holders have started to sell their DHA Lahore phase 9 allocation files (After the news of crappy file business in DHA valley Islamabad). NAB have started major investigation of DHA Valley Islamabad allocation files Scam.

It is very likely DHA 9 Lahore file business will also be looked at closely by GHQ & NAB in next few days/weeks ahead. This was the major reason for nearly one lac price correction in DHA Lahore phase 9 files in last 2 days.

If you want to buy a file to be safe hold your purchase till its near 22 to 23 lacs price range. If you are a seller you must act fast and sell in hurry before its too late.
