In 3 months you should see construction of few houses including mine Insha-Allah as many owners are going through architecture, design and CDA approval phase as we speak. A family member of mine will also start in about 6 months and tells me that there are several of his friends going through the same preparation phase. My family memeber is an ex government employee and knows a few allottes from his ministry hat have een waiting to build a home for over 20 years.

I do believe that in about one year, you should see a lot more houses being build. Keep in mind that it does take any new area a couple of years to take proper residential shape and convert into a proper livable place. Some utilities are also not completed yet. Electric grid station is being built, though I heard last week that the contractor stopped the work temporarily since his payment was not released by CDA; I think it is temporary halt, but Allah knows best.

Brother from Islamabad please comment and give us some ground facts.

You need to pay membership fee only first time when you buy first plot.

Per my experience one has to pay the associate membership fee for each and every time he purchases a plot in DHA Lahore. Each and every time associate membership number is allotted starting with AM/... against a new plot.

100sqyd comm Penninsula rate are 50-55lacs. these were 70-80lacs two years back. with the rapid development, prices are expected go back to same level in one or 1 1/2 year.

Development in full swing, I saw A block last month and seems to be ready for the possession but I am not an expert to give any judgement. I think Bahria may give possession of A block in next 6 months or so.

DHA Valley work is almost stopped due to unavailability of Land. only 500 kanal land is availabilble and earthwork is done there. Expressway is prepared in patches and remaining portion are not given by land oweners.
DHA phase-2 Extension work is far from start.
DHA Tower commercial shops are not bought by anybody.
Now DHA future is doubtful.

Regarding DHA Homes, which are located in Valley only, the Turkish company is already onsite; ground work is in full swing. Ground work is the main job. After ground work, the construction part is always fast.
They may have problems with the land owners but remember it is not ONLY DHA, it is a JV among BT, RH & DHA.

The Earthwork is done only 1% of total land of DHA Valley Islamabad, where Turkish company is going to start the work. The remaining area is untouched from 2 years. 95% land is not purchased yet. You should not believe DHA announcement too much. Visit to site and Check this is only 500 kanal area which is handed over to Turkish company.

I visited DHAI Phase I Islamabad and saw that the development in Phase I Ext is restarted and is in progress. I also met with Mr Faisal DD Planning who says INSHAALLAH Phase I Extdevelopment will be completed in 2 years. We would try different options like NUST, UET, GIKI.
My son needs to prepare for entry test in KIPS. For a family to stay in Lahore, (I am not from Lahore) I need to rent a furnished house or flat or portion for about 3 months. I can give you a 5 bedroooms 5 bath fully furnaished house in DHA ,lahore with pool and acs, generator and 1 servant and 1 guard at 300 lacs a month .this is just like living in a 5 star hotel and payng Rs 10000 a day for 5 bed rooms .

Amar sahib, my suggestion to you is to go to a guest house for a couple of days and search for renatl when you are in Lahore. You can find a furnished single portion (like an apartment) with all the amenities for 40-50 thousand rupees a month. I will also recommend to mention to the rental agent that you are visiting from Karachi. Whatever you say NEVER mention the six letter word A-B-R-O-A-D. If you do that, there will be no shortage of the Asfrafs who will overcharge you way over the market.

@Ashraf. Ashraf sahib, kuch khuda ka khauf karo, the economy is no longer as good overseas as you would imagine. Lets see 300 thousand rent, the most expensive brand new 1 kanal house in DHA rents for 80,000-100,000 lac. That must be some very nice furniture that you are renting for over 200,000 per month.

The NUST test centre for candidates in Lahore is already declared as Punjub University campus at Wahdat road. The registration for GIKI is not open yet but I believe they would also have such option. This is something very good on part of these universities.

It is also matter of finding the ‘right’ apartment building. There are many issue when it comes to buying an apartment, some buildings have more then one owners and apartments are sold multiple times. some are with great features but high prices. Just be conscious.

I would suggest go for renting for a year first. Later on, if you like, look for one which is for sale.

F-11 is the best option and you can have a 3-4 bed apartment in this range....Abu Dhabi Tower has approximate cost of 10 Million for a 3 bed apartment but there are other apartment buildings nearby with 8 Million or so....

If you have given your Qatar address, intimation letter with full details of schedule of payments which is expected by the middle of May 2010, will come to your foreign address. You can pay to DHA by sending bank draft from overseas. Also anybody on your behalf can pay to DHA in the shape of bank draft and you will be issued acknowledgement of receipt of draft by DHA. No form is needed to be signed by you. Nothing to worry on this aspect. Only important point is you must pay installments as per schedule otherwise there is 20% penalty on delayed payments.

There is no problem in paying installment any body from your family or friend can pay installment.Askary Bank is official Bank of DHA. Any body can go and ask the Bank for DHA-8 Challan form, you have to mention your plot number registration number and NIC-number.
In The bottom of form your signature if you are not there pay can write your short name.That is enough.
